The game performance itself, while less than good - was good enough to win most afternoons. But it's added upon similar performances and reminds us of what 2019-2020 was and put the fanbase in a spot, mentally.

Liberty isn't happening. This team will lose by 3 TDs to Liberty. They are so much better than Rutgers its not even funny. I predicted a 3-0 start to be followed by a loss to Liberty. I am way much more confident that we don't win that game than when I made that pick.

Liberty defense is nowhere near as good as Rutgers.

Can we steal Liberty’s head coach, and keep White? Liberty came out of nowhere to prominence. Why is it that in 20 years we can’t do the same? Baffling, to say the least. Funny, but in the theme of the thread I was making a some what positive position making it radical because we have had 50 pages of bashing and doom. Nothing is radical about complaining about the lack of use of the tight end, and yea I’m wondering why we are so reluctant as well.

Are you saying the team's performance on Saturday was good enough to win most games? Am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

Actually I’m not a big believer in using transitive property an indicator of whom we can or can’t beat. I do believe that you can make some comparisons on relative strengths and weaknesses based on this however . My point was that Ohio was beaten by an FCS team at home and it appears Ohio is not very good. Our offense against Ohio was not all that impressive outside of Tucker and we only managed to score one more point against Ohio than an FCS team did. I wouldn’t say that we just had a bad game against Rutgers. We are now in year three of an abysmal level of offensive performance. This isn’t injury related, pandemic related or whatever other excuse people want to use to rationize bottom level P5 performance. Our offense stinks and change is needed or the results will continue to be what they have been for 2+ years.

You make excellent points there, friend. My faith started fading after that Maryland game two years ago.

Of all the sports I watch I am most emotionally connected to Orange football, and it’s not close. I know many on here have certain NFL team that is #1 or maybe have 2 college teams due to family connections, or Soccer weather it be Europe or elsewhere and the list goes on. So I am going to find hope if it’s there and IMO it is. I understand the frustration and I realize many have thrown in the towel on Dino , fine. The only time I lost hope was late in the Grob era. But even then I kept going to games. And the people that are assaulting Dino’s character are crossing the line, period.

The oddsmakers have had Syracuse the underdog in its last sixteen games. Maybe it is time to stop searching for excuses when this happens in sixteen consecutive games!
