Rich Duffy and Jim Boeheim both averaged more pts per game than Sam Penceal. Penceal only played 23 games this year.

If my memory serves me right Sam Penceal guarded Rick Barry and Bill Bradley on successive nights in the Cane Classic both SU wins and Sam was excellent
