AA from ESPN & NY's College Team

I live in NYC and wasn't sure how I was gonna get there on Tuesday. I still had a three foot drift in the middle of my street. By Thursday things were better though. That being said. Who cares? The comeback for anything rutgers is ACC. they can stuff it.

OK, I'll take your word for it. We got over a foot in SW CT and there was no power outages or road closures 3 days later.
Mainly talking about NJ - some roads did not get plowed for days. My mother-in-law's town (central NJ) did not get plowed out for 6 days after the storm. Branches down everywhere = power outages.

And it wasn't easy to get in/out/around in NYC. Hardly anything was plowed. But given all that, I had a great time at that game.

Plus the snowstorm surely killed off some late sales...as people were not sure if ty could get to the game...I think we took a hit of a few thousand fans from the storm.

My apologies, I forgot it was *that* storm that caused all the problems. Thought it was one of the six others from last winter! My bad.

Maybe my initial post was a little ill-willed towards ESPN, but I can't help it. I just can't stand when people say stupid ass **** about Rutgers being NY's College Team. If Yankee Stadium was located in Rochester (equivalent of Yankee Stadium to Rutgers), we would've had 40-50k in the stands. Congrats to Rutgers if they are selling more tix through the school than SU, but let's put things into perspective.

40-50K in the stands? You can't eve come close to that in the Carrier Dome.

Can't even come close to that? Did you see the WVU game this year? We had 45k strong.

Lay off the meth.

Your last game in Ruttieville...had about 22k in the stands...you were saying?

You forget that NYC's **** for brains mayor didn't have anything plowed, getting around or into NYC was a disaster even then.

And for risking life and limb, you obviously weren't in the cab that I was in...

Finding a cab was even harder than the cab ride itself. City was a mess. Penn Station to our UWS hotel took close to 2 hours.

As for AA, as I've said before, there is a reason she's covering a blog about the Big East. Not exactly where they park their best and brightest.

Some Yankee Stadium management dude was on with Mike Francessa this afternoon hyping the game and said he'd be happy if they got 30K to attend. I thought maybe he meant somewhere in the 30s, since we had 38K there last year, but he said it three times: 30K.

That'd be terribly embarassing for RU if they had less attendance than us.

This reporter does not deserve her job with ESPN. To make a comment about how Syracuse stands against Rutgers in the pecking order is both unprofessional & absurd...

A snapshot of the Syracuse program at its darkest hour EVER after more than a century vs. a traditionally pathetic Rutgers program at its finest hour(still nothing to be proud of) remains not even a close contest.

Syracuse destroys Rutgers in every category at every sport, & it's not even close...

Rutgirls is subsidizing tickets big time...u can buy them for $30...if u aren't the lucky 40% getting them free

Right. It was far more expensive to buy bowl tickets through SU last year. We bought ours direct, without SU involvement and saved.

I personally don't care how many fans Buttgers brings to the bowl game. They have always been irrelevant, and always will be irrelevant.

Not quite..the high was only 40..yes it felt warmer when the sun was out but still there was alot of snow out there.

wasn't it about 19 degrees at kickoff?

Actually it started out cold...but it was a brilliantly sunny day. It actually felt nice tailgating around 1-3pm...however, once the sun set it was chilly in the stadium. I bought UnderArmour Cold weather gear and was glad I did.

I remember Rutgirls' fans hoping for freezing rain for us. Oh Lord
