Aaron Hackett: "I think being a receiver in football it's a really unique position in sports. It's not like basketball where you can go up and grab a rebound... or running back where you know you'll get 15 touches." Hackett knows he'll get chance to block, help offense as whole.
Hackett said playing "more of a fullback role" has helped his overall game. Knows he has to make the most of his limited targets in the passing game.
Hackett said "just the opportunity to go out and play football" is something he didn't think he'd have a month before the season. That's what he's leaning on at this point. "It's all you can ask for." He thinks the team still has potential.
Hackett praised the NCAA for giving everyone an extra year of eligibility. He mentioned NFL aspirations, but that he's "more than happy" to come back to Syracuse in 2021. Will make that decision after this year ends. Would be an important returnee for the offense.
Aaron Hackett: "This year is about sacrifice." Said he's proud of teammates who "haven't bought into temptation" of social life or jeopardized the health of the team.
Aaron Hackett on JaCobian Morgan: "I saw it early. He's the type of guy who's going to stay after practice and do extra." Hackett said Morgan has proven to him that he'll "put it all on the line" and "make plays." Hackett has also been impressed with Morgan's poise.
Aaron Hackett said his love for the game motivates him to keep pushing through minor injuries to stay on the field for a team that needs him. He echoed Dino Babers' sentiments that once a football career is over, it's done. No adult rec league to go play.
