They beat Texas (!) and Princeton, but lost to Stanford by 4 at Stanford (good loss), Vanderbilt by 9 and Indiana by 11. Not terrible losses. And they've gone 6-3 against a decent schedule.

C.J. Leslie is a good player and is going to score some points inside for them, but he is an inconsistent rebounder. Keeping him off the boards will be a key. Richard Howell, a 6-8, 250 big man is going to get his.

Lorenzo Brown is a 6-5 slasher, who rebounds and passes well as a big guard. They have a lot of balance, with 6 guys effectively averaging 10 points a game. They kind of look like a lesser version of us - they're not quiet as athletic, they shoot about as well as we do, they pass pretty well, they're not a dominating rebounding team.

I think this will be a tough game, but we're going to win based on depth and experience.

If I had to pick one thing that will decide who wins this game it'd be our defense. If we play our customary tight defense I think NC State, not a great offensive team, will have trouble scoring and just might turn the ball over more than they'd like.

I don't think we lose this game at all. Things could go terribly wrong and I could be incorrect in my opinion, but I just don't see us losing to NC State.

They have a really high FG percentage, almost 50% I think. On the plus side our low post defense has been great. On the negative side our low post rebounding has not been great.

The NCS game will be a tough game regardless of the fact that we may be deeper and have more talent. NCS will be playing at home and will be very up for this game against a No. 1 rated team. SU has hardly been tested this year with only a few games- Florida & Stanford-that posed a serious threat of losing. The key to a victory is not getting behind early and frustrating NCS' offense by forcing multiple turnovers. The best thing about SU's depth this year is that the starters know that there are talented back-ups behnd them and that Coach Boeheim will not hesitate to pull starters if they don't produce or make bone-headed plays. This gives the starters a greater incentive to play as hard and as smart as they can and also keeps them rested so they can be more effective in the minutes that they do play.
