The St John’s player who got knocked over by the Providence player on his layup was Bryce Hopkins who was the star at Providence for 3 years ( last year he got injured early in the season and redshirted for the friars). After redshirting he then transferred out of Providence to St John’s for his last year. The history there probably helped prompt the aggression and fight after the foul.

Back in the Day, the SI college basketball issue had a panel discussion of their B1G, ACC (Curry Kirkpatrick?), and Big East writers. The Big East writer said something to the effect of, "You know what comes to my mind when I think of Big East basketball?" and the other two immediately responded, "Thug ball."

Virginia played Ohio State in a Nashville game. Michigan is playing Duke this upcoming weekend in DC.

I can’t tell you how much I’d love for us to play Georgetown (or UCONN/Nova) in February. It would give us a true rivalry game again for students to get hyped for rather than the lame early December date, which we didn’t even schedule this year.
