ACC leaving Greensboro?

Definitely Charlotte. There's really no other city for the ACC. North Carolina is the heart of the conference.

If they decide to hold the ACC Basketball Tournament in the headquarter city it would make the drive for UNC and Duke fans 90 minutes instead of 45 minutes. That really isn't fair to the only 2 fanbases the ACC seems to care about for basketball!!! Maybe they will just put the headquarters right on Tobacco Road and stop pretending about their favoritism?

Would be perfect, IMO. Greensboro's only an 1hr 1/2 away so the move wouldn't severely impact the region. Charlotte's up-n-coming, where the ACCN/ESPN and major corporate/financial institutions are located...and an international airport to boot. Absolute no-brainer.

Given their criteria, it sure sounds like Charlotte. I was in Charlotte for the ACC tourney a few years ago. It worked out very well -- as opposed to spending a few miserable days in Greensboro for another tourney. The difference between Greensboro and Charlotte can be measured in light years.

I went to the ACCT in Charlotte was it 3? Years ago. I sat in the Duke section, a little point of orange in a sea of blue. The stadium is beautiful and comfortable. My son lives in Charlotte but in the burbs. At first I thought I would just Uber back and forth but then realized that was ridiculous. I ended up getting a B & B about a mile from the stadium and that was the right choice.

Yeah, Greensboro? Pffffft.

Those last two bullets - opportunities for financial partners and operating expenses will scream at the Charlotte banking community. The new MLS franchise in Charlotte had a fight over which bank got primary sponsorship rights (Ally won) 2 years before the team begins playing actual games. The opportunities between ESPN/ACCN & the financial institutions will be plentiful. Heck, a mayonnaise company won the rights to sponsor the football kickoff game and Subway now has the championship.
