UConn basketball can easily be a NC contender even without being in an elite league. Wichita State got a 1 seed this season that is all you need to know. I don't think UConn will be a contender every season like they could have been if the old Big East was still around, but the AAC will be a multiple bid decent league for basketball because you only have 13 scholarships and UConn's program will be able to recruit enough in the Northeast to remain afloat.

Football good luck as the other teams in the region will have access to better leagues and that will resonate with recruits. UConn football is a 2 star program maybe 3 star program if I want to be kind. UConn basketball is 5 star total different game.
