They could do a four-day 16 team tournament but no byes (1vs16 etc). I doubt that would go over. The current format with 15 teams (3 missing out in future) is reasonable enough.

On our board, there's a Teel Tweet that Phillips said that he doesn't think all 18 teams should be invited to the 2025 ACC Tournament. That's his personal preference and will leave it to the schools to decide. It would make the tournament 6 days long if they allow all the teams to participate.

To paraphrase what he said was that teams would have to earn their way in.
