You must be talking about a bandwagon with recent success only type of love. I retired in December and check the ACC network regularly for SU coverage and have yet to see ANYTHING regarding SU mens basketball or football. ZERO! I have seen a one or two of our womens teams covered since December which I appreciate but really!! I guess I may have missed some but they sure have me convinced we are LAST on the list of the ACC for coverage.

A former UVA sportscaster friend wasn't super high on Anae because his attitude is a bit brusque apparently. But he had nothing but good things to say about Beck. I had high hopes that Garrett would ball out this year because this guy talked about Beck as a QB guru, who gets the absolute best out of every QB he works with.

So yeah, if you were paying attention to the kind of competitor Garrett was, and the two coaches who were coming in, it wasn't insane to think there would be a really huge uptick in his performance this year. If you don't follow the program like us lunatics, then it probably looks like some alien species abducted Shrader and replaced him with Kang or Kodos.

I think we have more TE catches in two games than we had all of last year (probably some hyperbole there, but you get my point).

Absolutely. Just two games in it's obvious that Anae's track record of success isn't a fluke. He knows what he's doing, and he's smart enough to know that Beck is indispensable.

Caught some of Packer's show - ACC PM - just a bit ago. Only thing I heard from him was discussing Top 25. As you know, he doesn't really care much for the Top 25 until the BCS standings come out. But, he did say something to the effect "Hey, Syracuse, you want to get in, the prove it. Just win and everything will take care of itself". Oh, and he had an SU helmet on the shelf behind him. Not sure if I've seen it there in previous shows.

Any of us with Orange colored glasses "saw this coming", but we see it every year. This year felt different, but there was little to back it up, beyond some cryptic insider posts. But, here we are, could this continue and be a magical year? I think so. Saturday will tell us a lot. We know from our Boilermaker friend, that they are a formidable opponent. They are Big Ten afterall, and that automatically makes them better than everyone else, but if we beat them and beat them soundly, the rest of the country just may take notice. Or, they will figure out how to say Purdue is terrible. And, that's ok, because we will then bury Virginia and then Wagner and then have a national audience for NC State.

Uh this is significant improvement and if you watched him after the Louisville game he basically said I didn't see it coming. Not looking to die on this hill though about it but it certainly doesn't require a rocket scientist to take a step back and assess what he did do well last year knowing his injury and dead arm issues and then believing that between Beck, Anae, putting in time to get better and working on getting stronger that he would perform better. ( Shrugging) Believe what ever you want though. As I recall you were skeptical. That's fine as well.

What I said is that he had a lot of work to do and needed a swing coach. I also thought he’d have a 3000yd season based on the fact the issues with the pass game were multifaceted, it wasn’t just him.

Agreed. He will likely come down to earth some as well. Maybe not but likely will and thats fine also. I am not sure most thought that he would be better though. There were allot of fans down on his throwing last year and going into the season. I would wager 70percent of this board was not expecting enough of an improvement to get to a bowl. Most, given our schedule were talking 3 to 5 wins. Again I am just glad we are winning and I think we have more in front of us.
