ACC Network - Lots of Love For Cuse Football

I certainly expected an improved Shrader. He has always had great pocket presence running ability and a gamer attitude. Due to the new passing scheme I expected him to be more effective and have better passing numbers and accuracy. But NOBODY could have predicted going from 52.5% comp percentage at 120 yds/game to 79% comp percentage at 264 yds/game thus far. That doesn’t ever happen. Kind of makes me wonder if it’s possible he was injured more than just the last few games last season.

It’s a small sample size thus far but the kid looks legit. He has even been accurate on the few deep balls he’s thrown. If he can keep this up we are going to be very happy with our record this year and next. He had a couple balls he threw short last week as he didn’t adjust his power enough to compensate for not being able to step into those throws completely and throwing off his back foot. But dang, nobody is perfect. I’m ecstatic.

"A 5-0 ranked Syracuse, RANKED SYRACUSE vs. NC state... "

"Rank them, you COWARDS."

"Get ready. GET READY."

My glasses may be Orange, but I'll take that from National Media ALL DAY!

But, he did say something to the effect "Hey, Syracuse, you want to get in, the prove it. Just win and everything will take care of itself".

He's been reading this board.

If you listen and watch Anae during interviews, It's easy to see where your friend is coming from. He is very stoic, isn't a story-teller like Babers, doesn't really even have a face for media (not withstanding his modeling pics when he was a player) and his answers are pretty short, to-the-point. That said, I couldn't care less, this offense is miles ahead of where it was last year. I think we have more TE catches in two games than we had all of last year (probably some hyperbole there, but you get my point).
There is zero bs with Dr. Bob. Had a chance to speak with him and as i posted months ago he is all business. I was convinced he would run the O as he wanted to or wouldn't have taken the job. Lets hope we can keep him for as long as possible.

My only worry when we hired him and I learned about his personality, is that the players would respond to him. Some don’t do well with that type of coaching, everyone is different. I have to say, it feels like this offense has bought in to everything they’ve been sold. There’s a whole team camaraderie and I realize winning helps that. But these players came in to game one ready to do some mofo business and didn’t stop in game 2 when we’ve not had the focus in the past for weaker opponents. This is a different team than we’ve seen in a very long time.

Where did they idea they‘ve lost focus on weaker opponents come from?

Babers has lost to 3 G5 teams, #25 USF in 2016, MTSt - 2017, #21 Liberty in 2020

Average score against the MAC, Uconn, and FCS is probably close to 48-14.

Relax there buddy. I’m talking historically. We’ve had a habit since Grob of sometimes keeping games kind of close with weaker opponents. Even Colgate games were a little close after the 2nd half. Nobody watching thought Colgate was going to win but also didn’t handle them the way people thought we would. The Uconn game had a different feel to it. Not everything is an attack against your main squeeze HCDB.

It’s got nothing to do with Babers, it’s a myth that it’s a habit. The occasional close game, but it’s not a habit.

The only coach to lose to a MAC team is Robinson.

When the leaders of the offense, Shrader, and Tucker buy in to what the OC is doing everyone else better buy in.

Didn’t we struggle with Stony Brook and Rhode Island during Marrone’s tenure and Villanova with Shafe? Not playing devil’s advocate, just trying to remember.

Wanna know what’s telling. When Dino talks about the offense in pressers, he uses phrasing that makes it sound like a separate corporation. Previous years it was his product.

So it’s kinda odd, but I’m liking it. Dino is CEO and White /Anae are senior VPs who are trusted to run their side of the business. Dino will step in only if there are issues.

Reading comprehension is your friend. I can see you getting huffy as you write every post. You don’t need to be a blow hard all the time. We’re in good times right now.

No, we’ve never struggled with inferior opponents the board thought were going to be blowouts. Never happened.

It you’re bad/mediocre over 25 years, you’ll probably have your fair share of tight games vs bad competition. That plays out if you go back to Grob. If you limit it to Dino, he’s had that one bad loss to cigar boy.

Anyways, I think it’s all a moot point as this years team is not mediocre, but good. How good? We’ll see.

Dude Garrett's mom died when he was 6, poor taste.

Gotcha!!...just kidding. :p Watch the video, I stated my post that way cuz Eric was trying to cover his lack of reviewing Syracuse early on and everyone is lying otherwise.
Why can't she take care of him from Heaven?

You’re the one that used the word habit. What did I miss?

Wait?!?! Rivalry game?!? Did she call it a rivalry game.’?
She was listening to the broadcast and all the floor references and thought we were playing bball at MSG

You definitely didn’t miss out on exaggerating my point. That’s for sure. Maybe habit was the wrong word but since you’re pretty uptight on here I should have assumed someone would take it personally.

My overall point that we went to Uconn and took care of business for 4 quarters. Which historically hasn’t always happened with inferior opponents still stands. Sorry you took offense to a congratulatory comment to the staff and players.

Anae is Chief from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. He rarely speaks, but he gets the job done, whether it's smothering a poor guy who had a lobotomy, ripping out a sink and throwing it out a window to escape or turning a garbage Sterlin Gilbert offense into a well oiled machine. I love the man.

I haven't watched that program too often, but when I have, it's always been a fun interview. I really like that team of Packer, Tannenbaum and Boston.
I like Packer the best on the ACCN as he offers a fair assessment of teams and does some homework so that he has some in-depth knowledge. Packer acknowledges the good for us but also points out the painful bad sometimes too. This game against Purdue is HUGE for the program in terms of perception.
