I'll push back a little about the Big East. I recall many of us griping in the late 90s/early 2000s about the disrespect shown us. Remember when we got screwed out of a Gator Bowl? Remember when hoops got the short-end of the scheduling stick repeatedly?

We were definitely a big fish in that pond, no doubt. But we had our share of grievances too. Particularly with the hoops-onlies and their voting interests. It wasn't all wine and roses.

I'm glad someone else was reading and posting on the same message board as I was in those days.

Yup. I just don't get the ACC angst that some folks have. It's a good conference with like-minded schools. It's the best fit among the P5 for SU both geographically and institutionally.

Yeah, we're a northern outpost who will never be seen as a true member by some old schoolers. Whatever, money don't lie. We just need to be much better in football and hoops.

I mean, our biggest historic hoops rivalry is with a school from Washington DC. Our most intense football rivalry in the BE was West Virginia, and our measuring stick was in south Florida. It's not like we haven't had a southern tilt in the past.

I am not by any means upset about being in the ACC, but I’m flipping back and forth between the Seton Hall/UConn and the UVA/ND hoops games and I just enjoy the BigEast style of play so much more. I question if we will ever see another big bodied center or PF in the mold of DC, John Wallace, Otis Hill, Ethan Thomas. We’ve lost our personality to an extent.

I hope we can find a style of play for football that we can embrace, celebrate, and recruit for.

I would imagine they tweet a lot more than those numbers reported. They name players of the week or month in 20 or more sports. I had the sense that was just hoops mentions.

And All4SU if you went to @theacc twitter account today most all of the tweets would be about the ACC Swim and Dive Championships that were held in Greensboro this week where the ACC Network account is mostly MBB and WBB tweets right now.
