ACC Offense | Defense

I get it, but we were actually a bit better last week on pass defense, granted against talented but young and inexperienced qb. All my point is, us that the secondary has talent and play as a unit at times. My contention with Cisco is consistency, angles on coverage, and sizing up guys for the big hit when all we need is a tackle. The pro scouts and D scouts in the acc see it. He us dynamic, but he needs to do his baseline job too.
Totally disagree. We were not better. Don’t know what you are seeing my man. Lol.

I agree, we were not better, but I think last week our defensive struggles were premised on getting gashed for 275 on the ground. we actually have up less explosive passing plays relative to the previous 2 weeks . The back 3-4 played better as a unit.

Not sure why you think the current guys are better at covering and tackling. Ive seen some bad tackling out there. Worse than Cisco. Plus the position is not just about tackles and ints. Run and pass fits, experience and leadership are huge factors too. He mis read some plays. I see a lot of safeties do that. Now sure how you can determine that's he's gambling. He doesnt always make the play but he is in the right spot most of the time. That's what helps him make plays. All in all, they can all get better throughout the duration of a season. (including Cisco), he only played 3 games into his junior season.
Agree. After re-watching the GT game I'm far more concerned about Cantin-Arku's tackling angles on Gibbs (yikes) than I am about Cisco in coverage.

Yeah I told you that was a true freshman QB. They don’t trust him throwing the ball. The kid is leading the nation in turnovers. No way he gets the whole play book. Our corners played well along with the nickle. A lot of Hanna’s tackles came from him playing in the box and on the LOS.

I see a lot of that too. He struggles when the run comes right at him also. I want to see Wax get more series.

I think it's just confidence with C-A. The less he hesitates, or "thinks" about the play, and the faster he closes the harder it will be for guys like Gibbs to juke him. Wax doesn't seem to hesitate.

There seems to be a difference when Wax hits people compared to Cantin-Arku. I don't think it's all about angles. Very limited sample size, but we need a "finisher" at the mike in the 3-3-5.

Oh I get ya, the kid is still learning but is a dangerous player with all the tools and will only get better. He made critical mistakes. Our dbs played well and hanna run supported well, unfortunately, too many running plays that ran made it to the 2nd and 3rd levels.
