ACC refs just blew a call at the end of the half in the duke game. Clearly a td that was ruled out at the 6 inch line. They reviewed it and the players leg hit the pylon (by hitting the pylon, it theoretically extends the goal line all the way around the world to the opposite goal line) in that situation, the ball clearly crosses the goal line. So if it's a catch, it needs to be a td too. Instead duke was put on 6 inch line with 3 seconds left in the half. Duke ended up getting the TD on the last play of the half, but they should have never been put into that situation with 3 seconds left after reviewing the play.

I thought that was no longer the rule.

I thought that was no longer the rule.

Well I take it back if I'm wrong, but mike pereira on fox last week explained it exactly like that for something similar in the Cal UCLA game

Yeah, it seemed to me it was either an incompletion or a TD. I don't see how they can say it was caught and out at the 6 inch line when he didn't step out of bounds until after he had hit the pylon.
