ACC Schedule !!

Wow no Saturday prime home games

Yup, at first glance not a very attractive schedule.

Duke on a Wednesday night and a slew of Saturday home noon games highlighted by Virginia at NOON.

UConn at MSG (we already knew this) on a Monday night.

The Saturday schedule -- and with Duke on a Wednesday -- probably rules out any GameDay scenario.

January 1st is a Sunday. There are no football bowl games that day. I'm glad to see we won't have a conflict with our Citrus Bowl game against Auburn In Orlando on December 31st.

CTO will charter a private jet to get back from Orlando in time for the 1/1/17 hoops game.

This schedule was made when most thought we'd be a middle of the pack ACC team

I'd love to hear Wildhack's "real" take on the schedule, not the PC one.

Back end of the schedule is brutal from the Feb 4 game with Virginia on. @Pitt, 2 games with the waitress-shtooping fool, and Duke. That's 5 really tough games in an 8 game stretch.

Yep, that's this year's rough patch.

Could that UVa game get moved to primetime?

Otherwise meh as far as travel. Game in the Carolinas during the week and the Dome done before an acceptable time to pour some beers.

We had Tyus Battle up for a primetime Duke game in the Dome (the instant classic OT win), and that made quite the impression on him. We have no real spotlight game this year to woo and wow recruits with. Yuck.

I was going to do everything in my power to try to be at this game, I thought it was 99.9 pct going to be on a Sat, what a joke.

Yeah, that's really striking.

This could be a great team, but you probably won't see any attendance marks broken this season.

Schedule doesn't set up properly.

If I remember correctly the glamor weekend game following the NC was verses Pitt.

With this roster and this schedule we could win the conference.

Duke has to go to UVA/Louisville/Syracuse/UNC/Notre Dame. They were given no favors.

Not sure why everyone thinks Pitt will be tough. If we can't beat them without Dixon, when will we ever beat them?

Any game can be moved if The Mouse wants it moved. The ACC has a rule (because UVa refused to do it voluntarily one time for football) to that effect. There was one year (back in the day) that we lost our weekend game against dook because Dookie V didn't want to come to C'ville for that Saturday and wanted the game in Cameron. So Greensboro ordered it switched.

I was just looking at that. February "swoon" is almost inevitable. Starting with @NCSU on 2/1, they are projected to be not a pushover. Even a very good Syracuse team could go 3-5 in February. Better pile up on wins before that or the backlash from "sneaking into the tourney" last year will return with a vengeance.

This schedule does not favor game watching in AZ. Even the evening games are back at 7, which is 5pm here or 4pm in California, Washington. Last season there were a lot of 8pm or 6pm for us weekday games.

4pm in Ca means forget about it, and 5pm here is a maybe, to be decided on game day if I can get out of work in time.

Weekends at 10am are killer. I am trying to get a new venue to open early for us. They do open at 10am for football season, but revert to 11am for basketball.

So that leaves me with very few good times. And MLK day somehow is not a big holiday here in AZ. Wonder why?

In conclusion, this means that we need to be here in April for the Final Four so that we get our good game watches in person!

I'm out for Clemson road trip since it's during week but pencil me in for the Ga Tech game on a Sunday night, plus next day is a federal holiday. Jarhead, let's get some beers and do it up!

The 12/17 game against Georgetown (honoring Pearl) could have broken a record. But I am afraid the students won't be there ... so I am not hopeful.

Make it happen. If anyone can, it is you.
