Syracuse coach Dino Babers spent a year as an assistant Pitt, and among his favorite memories was hearing an audible gasp from the crowd when Larry Fitzgerald dropped a pass during spring practice. Babers said he only saw Fitzgerald drop one more pass that year in a practice or game.
Syracuse coach Dino Babers said he attended Pitt's bowl game against Bowling Green in 2013, shortly after he was hired as BG's head coach. He watched Pitt's James Conner throughout. "And I said, man, that's what a running back looks like," Babers recalled. The Orange will face Conner and Pitt on Saturday.
