ACC title/Big Ten title games thread

Miami-Auburn Orange Bowl
USC-Ohio St Fiesta Bowl

I hope, but I can see the argument for osu..

I don't see one, both were 3-1 against the top 25, both lost to a top 10 team, difference is Osu has one more loss and that was a 31 point loss to 7-5 Iowa.

Eh... People will talk up osu with better top wins and the actual conference title whatever that counts for

It depends on how you view Wisc, also Fsu was ranked 3rd when Bama played them, its not their fault they knocked their qb out and they fell apart.

Sugar Bowl Clemson vs. Alabama
Rose Bowl Oklahoma vs. Georgia
Orange Bowl Miami vs. Auburn
Fiesta Bowl USC vs. Ohio State
Peach Bowl Central Florida vs. Notre Dame
Cotton Bowl Penn State vs. TCU

No Wisconsin?

I don’t think Wisconsin is that good but I guess knock Notre Dame out and put them in Peach Bowl.

I don't think they are either, but they lost one game by 6 points, I would put them ahead of Notre Dame or Ped st.

Ohio State has 2 top 10 wins to Bama's goose egg. Bama has the worst strength of everyone in the top 10 except Wisconsin and the OSU vs Wisconsin game showed how much that matters.

Ohio State wan their division and CCG, Bama has done neither.

Committee values those things more than a bad loss I would bet.

Edit- Committee might also consider that there is already the SEC champ in the playoff with UGA and think why Bama should get in with them.

Bama's best win is...LSU I guess? They aren't making it.

Couple that with not winning their conference title and its Clemson v Buckeyes again.

If TCU had won today would you have had them in your top 4?
If TCU had won, they would have been in the running, at least for me. My preference is if you only have a 4-team playoff, only conference champs (screw ND) should be allowed in. And therein lies the rub. You've got 5 power conferences, but only 4 spots.

Personally, I would like a 6-team playoff, 1 and 2 get rewarded with a bye. All 5 conference champs, and one at-large. I get the argument for an 8-team playoff. Totally. I just think the 6-team solution is a good compromise between what we have now and those calling for 8 teams.

Clemson AD is on the playoff committee.
So basically the Clemson AD gets to help decide his school’s playoff opponent.

Shouldn't be that complicated. Just get the four best teams in there, which the Committee has stated - over and over again - is their charge. This nonsense that you must win your conference championship is insane. That approach renders mundane items like strength of your conference, strength of OOC schedule, where you played teams, null and void. Four best teams. Period.

That ND loss is hard for people to forget plus they played in a pretty weak conference.
Notre Dame is a lot better than Iowa.
Iowa did it to Ohio State.

USC was ranked 10th last week. Jumping six spots because of a 3 point win over Stanford isn't going to cut it.

If Wisconsin played anyone good they wouldn’t have been 4th.
Wisconsin is a top 15 school which didn’t play Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State and played in the weakest P5 division.

I totally agree. I've been saying Wisconsin is bogus for weeks. Lousy QB, so-so team speed.

My point is that USC just does not realistically have a chance. And their conference was really weak.

First time watching them this year. Maybe he just had an off game but that QB was absolute terrible for an undefeated team. He seemed to be in way over his head. So many throws completely off target from wide open guys.

Yup and that's why strength of schedule matters. That doesn't get fully exposed playing a horrible non conf sked plus a bunch of bad Big Ten West teams.
