ACC Top 30 players per CFN

Playing them the 2nd to last game is a double edged sword. Our QB doesn't have the greatest track record of finishing seasons.

You could be right, but I like what we have in waiting in the wings should ED not finish the season on the field.

It all has to be considered along with the eye test. McNabb was not top 5 in one passing stat his senior year, including pass efficiency and completion percentage, and was outside the top 10 in at least half, yet a very strong argument exists that he was the best qb that year.

I get it. You love this offense, and I agree it will be exciting to see the numbers Dungey puts up. I'm looking forward to the season too. Just understand that someone attempting to inject perspective into something isn't the same as degrading it.

I agree with your assessment, the best QB (or Heisman winner) may not lead in every stat category. Deshaun Watson was, in my opinion, the best player last year. He was great when he had to be and was able - and content - to let others have their moments to shine and carry the team. In short, DW was a LEADER as well as a great QB last season. He did almost everything right and was the most valuable (Heisman) player on any team.

The above is not to disparage LJ, he was the Cardinals offense last season. I don't think they would have broken even without him.

Yeah, the intangibles sometimes get overshadowed by the spectacular. I would've been satisfied with either one winning it.

Supporting cast always needs to be considered too. Going back to McNabb, how many times did he make up for mediocre talent along the oline during his career with a good but not elite receiving corp? Compare that with someone like Gino Torretta (I know I'm going back a ways) that basically got to just toss it up and let his recievers go get it. There's no way he should've won the Heisman in '92.
