ACC - We Better Be Seeing A Lot

Of all conference players. I’ll start the list for the offense. - McCord ( who IMO outplayed the golden Cam Ward) Peña, Meeks, Gadsden… the list goes on

McCord was every bit as good as Ward not just that game but for the season as a whole. If he were returning Syracuse would need to campaign hard preseason for pewee to see him as a Heisman candidate.

Only strong disagreement on that is the lack of Fadil Diggs. Numbers weren't eye popping but he was the most important player on a lacking unit and made chit happen when he was essentially playing linebacker. I'm certainly far from a line play expert but hard to believe that there were that many dudes better than him this season.

As for Ward vs McCord -
Ward didn’t lose that game, their HC did.

Also - Ward didn’t have a 5 INT w 3 pick-6’s game this year.
So his TD / INT #’s were better than Kyle’s.

I don’t really have a problem with either of those.

Stinks not to have Marlowe on a list like that, but I get it with the injury, he is just such a rock on that defense.

All true, but Ward had a better surrounding cast that Kyle, all year. If Kyle inexplicably comes back, he’ll have Everton win a Heisman

Agree and he stayed here for a 5th year only to have it derailed by injury. Happy though that he was able to play for about half the season and be a big part of our success. Wish he was on that All-ACC list too.

You really think the NFL drafts based on college awards?

Of course not. But like achievements listed on a resume, players are noticed along their career paths by their achievements. College coaches check two-minute highlight videos from players along with a list of varsity achievements. They talk to HS coaches they trust, too. So do nfl staffs talk to college coaches. Achievements make a spotlight on players even brighter.
So I think everything matters. And some teams have type owners like Jerry Jones who sometimes act like they know more than their coaches. I don't know if Tim Tebow's winning the Heisman as an underclassman led to Denver picking him in the draft, but the Broncos gave up 3 picks in that draft to get him.
