ACC Week 12 Overview: Va. Tech to Top Miami in Underachiever Tilt

Around the ACC (All Games Saturday)

Pitt (-6) at Wake Forest, noon ET, on ACC Network
Pitt (6-4 SU, 6-3-1 ATS) will become the sixth different winner of the ACC Coastal Division in the last six years with either a win at Wake Forest (5-5 SU, 3-7 ATS) or against Miami next weekend. The ‘under,’ for what it’s worth, is 10-3 behind head coach Dave Clawson when the Demon Deacons square off against a conference opponent allowing more than 18.5 points per game on the year. Wake limps to 21.3 points per contest. The Panthers allow 29.6 entering.

N.C. State (-15) at Louisville, 12:20 p.m. ET, on ACC Network
The 15-point spread is the most N.C. State (6-3 SU, 4-4-1 ATS) has gifted on the college football oddsboard in and ACC clash since 2001 (Duke, +17). The ‘under’ is 16-6 all-time when the Wolfpack take to the road in conference play under head coach Dave Doeren.

No. 12 Syracuse at No. 3 Notre Dame (-9.5), 2:30 p.m. ET, on NBC
Notre Dame (10-0 SU, 6-4 ATS) has won and covered the spread in 10 of its last 16 ranked matchups in South Bend, including its last four straight.

Western Carolina at North Carolina (OFF), 3 p.m. ET, on ACC Network
North Carolina (1-8 SU, 4-4-1 ATS) should easily dispose of Western Carolina (3-7 SU, 4-5 ATS) this weekend. The Catamounts have lost by 69, 41, 42, 42, and 55 points in five prior matchups against ACC opponents this decade.

Miami (-3.5) at Virginia Tech
Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, on ESPN
Miami (5-5 SU, 3-7 ATS) and Virginia Tech (4-5 SU, 3-6 ATS) square off in the battle of biggest ACC disappointments Saturday. The media voted the programs to finish 1-2 in the Coastal Division, the Hurricanes receiving 122 first place votes to 16 for the Hokies. Miami sits fifth (2-4 SU) in the standings, while Tech is tied for fourth (3-3 SU) with Duke. Both are mathematically eliminated from winning the crown.

No. 22 Boston College at Florida State, 3:30 p.m. ET, on ESPN2
Florida State (4-6 SU, 3-7 ATS) is an unprecedented 5-10 SU and 2-12-1 ATS in ACC play since the start of 2017. The team is averaging 19.8 points under these conditions. Boston College (7-3 SU, 6-3-1 ATS) is 11-1 SU and ATS when holding teams to fewer than 21 points in this period.

Virginia at Georgia Tech, 3:30 p.m. ET, on ACC Network
Georgia Tech (6-4 SU, 5-5 ATS) is posting 42.8 points per game since Week 5. It is 5-1 SU and ATS in this stretch. Virginia (), meanwhile, averages 19.9 points on the road against ACC competition since October 2016.

Duke at No. 2 Clemson, 7 p.m. ET, on ESPN
Then-No. 2 Clemson smashed Duke 56-20 as a 13.5-point favorite in head coaches Dabo Swinney and David Cutcliffe’s lone head-to-head battle.

Good thing we won't be in south bend.

There is nothing better for our conference than Clemson winning out. Whether you're a Clemson lover or not.
If they can't beat Duke, they aren't that great.
