NOTES

Boston College (3-0), Clemson (3-0), Duke (3-0), Syracuse (3-0), NC State (2-0) and Virginia Tech (2-0) remain undefeated through the first three weeks of the season.

— It is the first time Boston College has been 3-0 since the 2007, when the Eagles started 8-0 behind QB Matt Ryan. The Eagles look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Purdue on Saturday.
— Clemson is 3-0 for the fourth consecutive season and seventh time in the last eight years. The Tigers have now won 46 of their last 50 games, dating back to 2014. Clemson opens ACC play Saturday at Georgia Tech.
— The Blue Devils are 3-0 for the second consecutive season, the first time they have opened with three wins in back-to-back seasons since 1987-88. Duke is also the first Power 5 team to post multiple road wins over Power 5 opponents this season, and has the nation's fourth-longest active win streak at six games. The Blue Devils face in-state opponent North Carolina Central on Saturday.
— Syracuse is 3-0 for the first time under Dino Babers and the eighth time in program history. The Orange won its ACC opener for just the second time since joining the league in 2013. Syracuse welcomes UConn to the Carrier Dome on Saturday. The last time Syracuse was 4-0 was 1991.
— The ACC and the SEC are the only two Power 5 conferences with six undefeated teams.
— Three ACC contests highlight the fourth week of the season as Pitt travels to North Carolina for a 12:20 p.m. start on Raycom Sports, Louisville plays at Virginia in the ACC opener for both teams at 12:30 p.m. on RSN, and No. 3/2 Clemson faces Georgia Tech in Atlanta at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
— Saturday will mark the 13th time in the last 15 meetings that at least one team in the Clemson-Georgia Tech rivalry has been nationally ranked. The Tigers have won each of the last three meetings.
— Louisville has won three straight against Virginia to grab a 4-2 series lead and a 3-1 edge in ACC play.
— North Carolina has won all five ACC meetings with Pitt, and the last seven games between the teams have been decided by a touchdown or less.
— The ACC's non-conference slate is highlighted by No. 23/25 Boston College at Purdue, No. 21/20 Miami vs. FIU, and No. 8/8 Notre Dame at Wake Forest. The Eagles and Boilermakers are meeting for the first time on the gridiron.
— Saturday marks Notre Dame’s first visit to BB&T Field since a 24-17 win in the series opener in 2011.
— Miami’s first game against crosstown foe FIU in 11 seasons includes the return of Butch Davis, the veteran Panthers head coach who posted a 51-20 record in six seasons at UM.

Random fact of the Day:

What most people don't know is that Clemson and Tech played exclusively in Atlanta until the early 80s. They have only played each other 20 total times in Clemson, SC.
Cool.

I am impressed Clemson and G Tech have played 82 times. I assume they are your traditional rival that you play every year even though they are in the other division?

Hey gbo why so much whining over at Tigernet about the SU Noon start? Seems everyone over there is upset about no night game.

I would assume it's because it could offer SU an advantage, if there is one to be had.

Andrea picked WMU over SU in week 1 and FSU over SU in week 3. It must have hurt her to pick Syracuse this week. Don't worry Andrea, you can go back to picking against Syracuse next week.

She dug herself a hole, and now she's trying to use Wake and Marshall to dig out of it.

Assuming they at least have some pride about their record on picks.

Correct. The schools are only about 2 hours from each other so a natural rivalry took hold. Plus we recruit the area hard so it helps to get to play there every other year.

I think your problem is that you went over to Tigernet...:)

I think it has to do with the travel. It's why I didn't want an early time. You have to get on the road before 6 so you don't get caught in traffic since there is only a couple ways in.

She's been negative about 'Cuse since she did the Big East blog for College Football Nation on ESPN.

Hmmmm.

If someone were to fly into Charlotte at 730am gameday (what appears a 2.5 hr drive no traffic) is getting parked and close to the stadium by 11 or even noon going to be an issue? Any route where you can trade distance/time coming in from the north?

Basically you can take can take I85 from Charlotte to Anderson exit 19B. This is what everyone takes pretty much. You also could take 85 to Easley but this is a crapshoot. You have to go through downtown Easley which is never consistent when it comes to traffic. It could be smooth sailing or bumper to bumper.

If you left by 8 you could probably be parked by worst case 11:30 accounting for terrible traffic once you get off of I85 at 19B. You wouldn't have any time to tailgate or whatever but you'd make the game. It's possible that traffic is the best it's ever been and you get parked before 11. I doubt it but it could happen.

I wish you luck and safe travels my friend.

In fairness, from a national or even league perspective, there hasn't been much for her to be positive about.

There is a flight into Greenville at 947am. I see hitch hiking is legal in South Carolina... How mad are you guys about last year?
