35.7 million. That's a big number.
Is that just from ticket sales? And concessions? Does it count TV and radio money?35.7 million. That's a big number.

Makes sense why Cal and Stanford are on that list then. Northern California cost of living expenses/prices are astronomical. That’s revenue only. The numbers have been posted before. It doesn’t include expenses. So I don’t consider it “made”. If I sell something for $5 but it cost me $3 to make, I “made” $2. And it costs a lot to put on an event at the dome. So that chart is deceiving.
It is deceiving. The Dome is probably the most expensive building to run. But at least the school saved some with JAB's discounted salaries. That’s revenue only. The numbers have been posted before. I would guess that it is income from all sources related to basketballIs that just from ticket sales? And concessions? Does it count TV and radio money?
That’s revenue….not profit.35.7 million. That's a big number.
It costs a lot to put on an event at the Dean Dome, Assembly Hall, Rupp, Yum Center, etc too. Syracuse isn’t some unicorn of high venue costs. The Athletic department sometimes cries poor mouth but program is very profitable compared to others of similar status. That’s revenue only. The numbers have been posted before. I suspect it’s not wildly different from other larger on campus basketball arenas. Just my opinion. Plus I think the ticket revenue potential far outweighs any additional costs to operate.Because of the size and other things like bball attendance, I bet it costs more to have an event in the dome than most anyplace else. There were a couple years before JW that we ran in the red. But again, that chart is deceiving.
Yes, it is. And it's a big top line number. That’s revenue….not profit.
Until Syracuse's AD opens the books, that's all we have to go on.That’s revenue….not profit.
It's from DeptEd, all schools receiving government money in some form or another have to submit financial statements. They're very general and basic without a lot of detail in there. From what FY is this from? Given that SU is a private institution, how was this data accessed? For years, people could only speculate as to what coaches are being paid. Can't be retrieved via FOIA.
Dayton sells out a 13k capacity arena just about every home game and the cash from hosting the First Four every March. One of the better fanbases in college hoop. Some really strange blips on that radar. Cal? Dayton?
Probably helps to have Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to boost local economy.Dayton sells out a 13k capacity arena just about every home game and the cash from hosting the First Four every March. One of the better fanbases in college hoop.
I cannot stand them.
heating the dome costs more when it's only half full. The Dome is probably the most expensive building to run.
It’s much less after they changed the roof. They used to heat the roof to nearly 95 degrees to help melt snow off the roof.
well let's bring back the uptempo hang and shwang and set the roof on fire !It’s much less after they changed the roof. They used to heat the roof to nearly 95 degrees to help melt snow off the roof.
