SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse's women's basketball team will ride its five-game win streak into the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament in Greensboro, N.C., this week. The Orange (22-7, 10-6) earned the No. 8 seed and will play No. 9 Virginia Tech (17-12, 6-10) on Thursday, March 1. Tip-off is slated for 2 pm on RSN.

The Greensboro Coliseum will play host to the ACC Women's Basketball Tournament for the 18th time in the last 19 years.

Co-ACC Champion Louisville received the No. 1 seed while Notre Dame earned the No. 2 seed; both teams secured a bye for the first round. The Fighting Irish claimed their fifth-straight regular season championship on Sunday afternoon with a win over No. 21 NC State, 86-67.

The 41st annual ACC Tournament will feature all 15 ACC teams and 14 games, beginning with three first-round matchups on Wednesday. Four second-round games are scheduled for Thursday, followed by the quarterfinals on Friday, the semifinals on Saturday and the championship game on Sunday at 2 p.m.

All 14 games of this year's tournament will be televised. The first, second and quarterfinal rounds will be carried by the league's regional sports network, RSN. Both Saturday semifinal games will be carried nationally by ESPNU, while a national audience will also watch Sunday's championship game via ESPN2. In addition, all games will be available via ACC Network Extra.

Inside the Matchup
The Hokies handed the Orange their first home loss of the season when the two met on Feb. 1. Virginia Tech defeated Syracuse 73-64 snapping an 11-game win streak for 'Cuse inside the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse leads the all-time series 6-5 and has won four of the last five meetings.

Thursday will be the first neutral-site meeting between the two and the first time they will face off in the postseason.

Orange in the ACC Tournament
Syracuse is 4-4 in the ACC Tournament since joining the league in the 2013-14 season. Last year, Syracuse went 1-1 with a win of No. 14 North Carolina before losing to No. 3 Duke 68-46.

The Orange reached the ACC Championship for the first time in 2016 as the No. 3 seed where they lost to No. 1 seed Notre Dame 68-57.
