Addazio Presser

They ran a lot at Jones and who wouldn’t. We’re starting a LB who goes 6-0 212 and trust me he’s smaller than that. He’s short safety size and in fact Coley our safety is way bigger.

Fact is Lakiem and Armstrong can’t get off blocks inside. They’re light to. Lakiem would be great on the outside if paired with an MLB like Clifton Smith or even Zaire. It’s too bad I feel like we wasted a really good OLB this year.

Just couldn’t expect the DBs to hold up against Dillon all day long in the second level. Why not go 4-4? Not once did we try to plug in Richards or Arku to come down hill. Those are our two biggest hitting LBs. (Even in garbage time the LBs were Jones, Wallace and Kponga so I guess I should know where Canadian LBs rank)

Clemson did the same thing last year. It happens, but it seems we never do it to anyone.

This really isn't surprising. They ran the ball alot as everyone expected. Their oline did a tremendous job of opening holes and holding blocks. Doesn't really matter what defensive scheme you call when your D is getting out physicaled every play.

For all the crap the Dazzler gets on this board he does a few things on offense that I envy and appreciate when watching.

1.) His OL is always massive & well prepared.

2.) His old school play calling philosophy of “keep running it till they stop it.”

And he runs the same play in a different formation to disguise that he’s still attacking the same defensive weakness.

Marrone did those well too.

And yet he’s 5-4 and got beat 59-7 last week at home. Yawn.

Yawn all you want.

I prefer common sense play calling to throwing stuff against the wall and seeing what sticks.

Lynch was channeling the Fonz from Waterboy today with some of his third down calls.

He has a few drives a game when he calls fantastic designed & timed 3rd down plays.

The vast majority are jet sweeps on 3rd & 20 cuz who the farq knows!?!

Maybe that play hadn’t been called yet so he figured fudge it

Anybody seen Alton Robinson. About to send a File 6( missing person teletype) out on him. He's been missing since September 2019.

Yawn? We have 3 wins and are one of the worst teams in the P5. But hey, lets poo poo the guy who just curb stomped us and then let up so the ambulance could revive us.

This wasn’t about us it was about Addazio. How long has Addazio been at BC? The torch and pitchforks would be out around here just the same if Addazio was our coach AND NO ONE can deny that.

Pasqauloni was going 6-6 getting to bowl games to. Whoopdeedo

It's the "yawn" part, it's dismissive as if everyone is frustrated for no reason. One thing to correct people saying dumb things but it's another to be completely dismissive when people are just venting.

You mean when internet "dial-up" connection was still a thing? Fast forward the past two decades...I don't think nowadays many here would poo-poo consistently average in the 7-6 type hood vs. 4-8's and 3-9. That outlier 10 win season was great last year no doubt, but at least at this point in time, it truly appears to be an aberration.

BC is a high floor low ceiling type of program. Won't compete for conference title but the bottom won't fall out. Their division titles in the mid 2000's were due to the double aberrations of Clemson and FSU both down and having an NFL quality QB.

his approach works fine for pounding on garbage teams. it's like a pasqualoni team running for a million yards on a garbage team. we are that garbage team which stinks but i don't want his approach, i want to be better.

You guys are assuming the ground & pound (“meathead”) offensive approach is inherent in the two things I admire about the Dazzler’s approach.

It’s not.

Having a physical, well prepared offensive line and using a “keep running it till they stop it” play calling philosophy can work for an air raid, option or spread offense.

Same goes for disguising how a defensive weakness is exploited through different formations.

It’s not unique to an offense; it’s simply an approach to how an offense is called/executed.

And the Dazzler’s ceiling, or average, is something I’d give Chip’s left nut for after enduring sub .500 football over the past 15 years.

Edit - I just realized that I probably confused folks by using “running” to describe play calling philosophy.

I used “running” to mean calling the same play that can’t be stopped - run or pass play.

Didn’t mean it as call run plays until the defense stops it. I believe this is an important distinction I mistakenly left out.
