Team came out & totally got hammered on the glass.

Roberson then comes in & is an immediate factor. After he gets three or four quick boards & easy baskets, they then adjust to him & he is basically a non-factor the rest of the way.

So, my question is this, why is the better team making the adjustments & the team getting slammed on the glass just doing same old same old ?

Great game from Lydon, man I hate to think what it might have looked like if he was only very good & not really terrific.

The one kudo I do have for Jimmy is that he did light a fire at half-time & team came out strong & with great energy, but we were too outmanned to sustain that for a full 20 minutes and that is where the lack of adjustment comes back into play.

It is really hard to see what the Coach might have done to make a difference with this group against their group, but that being said, it is just so frustrating to keep watching the same plays with the same results over and over and over again with no changes.

Boeheim is in a tough spot with the Roberson/Thompson thing. He can only go with Thompson for so long based on defense and rebounding and Roberson was active. He got some rebounds right after he came in but he had some hustle deflect the ball back out open 3's that were huge too. This is not our problem though. I thought JB did a great job with these two guys. We just have no guard play at the 1 and if we move Battle there we have no 2. That is our problem and there is no solution.

Totally agree that there is no real solution; however, sometime you gotta just try something different. We could have been bigger with a linup of TB (at the point), AW, TL, TT, TR.

Why not try it - at least for a little while to see what happens ? Gillon pretty clearly needed some rest anyways.

The solution is to whip TT into shape very very quickly. He needs someone to light a fire under his ass about defense and rebounding. He won't go to the league as weak as he is in those two aspects.

It just baffles me that a player as long and athletic as TT can look so out of place on defense. 'Measurables' alone should make him a passable defender at worst. He just looks so disinterested/lost on defense. He knows it's the key to his playing time but doesn't care? I know some of it has to do with learning the defense but a lot of it is effort, plain and simple.

In other words, he looks like a freshman.

Disinterested is really the best word for it. Sadly. The one time he did seem energized he got himself so far out of position it was comical.
