SU Twitter just linked a story saying Flemming is out for the year with an injury and will be getting surgery.

At this point it would almost be funny if it wasn't so sad with this kid.

Damn. Kid can't catch a break.

Awful news all around. Feel bad for the kid. And the team. Sounds like he's worked really hard with Drew Allen to get on the same page. I hope some of the younger guys are able to step up.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

Syracuse University receiver Adrian Flemming sustained a lower body injury which will require surgery. As a result of the surgery and rehabilitation process, Hill will not return for the 2013 season.

I'm hoping this is in regards to Macauley Hill, not Flemming.

He's got a redshirt year available if he wishes to come back in 2014.

He played as a true frosh in 2010.

Terrible Terrible news for this kid, dont think he has anyway to get this year back as a redshirt either. To be honest though I cant say I am suprised, the poor kid simply cant stay healthy. This was also one of the reasons why myself and a few others were so concerned about the Wr position coming into the year, having to rely on guys who in the past haven't been able to stay healthy or get on the field through production. Funderburk will have to the beneficiary of this.

I dont think he can use it as he has played/logged minutes in 4 years, once you play a down I believe that counts, its not like basketball.

I think that's just poor editing. On the Twitter feed the specifically say Flemming, and also say it was sustained against PSU. Gotta be Flemming.

They probably saved over the injury story with Hill and just missed the name when they altered it (trust me, that's a possibility...I'm an SID and I save over similar stories to save time writing them all the time).

He only played one game this year can he petition for a 5th next year because of the injury?

Seriously, could he go the Dan Conley route and get a medical redshirt?

And the DO and PS just tweeted this as well.

I think he has the ability to apply but its far from a slam dunk.

You'd hope given that it was after the first game that he'd be a good candidate.

Good thing he caught his first pass though. Geez.

If you're injured during the 1st 3 games, and you have a RS year available, you get a do over. See Lavar Lobdell and Taj Smith.

Actually, it's the first 1/4 of the season.

Jeez, was it an ACL before? Or was it his ankles? He needs to take a multivitamin or something, I feel for the guy.

Nuts. I wish the kid well. Seems like he will be done.

The worst part about this is that he's a great, great kid. Future coach-type kid.

All the best Flems.

Thats good news, I hope he comes back if for nothign else to be able to hopefully have an injury free season, kid is beyond cursed.

If you like him so much, why would you call him Flems?

Feel bad for the kid, but he's clearly injury prone. Some players are. He needs to move on with his life. Football isn't his game.
