Advice: Syracuse Trip Next Fall

Towards Rochester

Revenwood is Great value. Good tee box selection./
Greystone is nice, I but trumped up with the greens and some shots that are better when you play with someone who knows the course.
Mill Creek some crazy elevation changes
Wayne Hills is challenging depending on the tees, some nice holes.
Durand is short but really a challenge. a Robert trent Jones course too
Deerfield West of the city is nice.

Bristol Harbour closed about 5-6 yrs ago

Conklin is good.
Hiawatha a bit more playable.
En-joie if you want to play a course the pro's played for years.
Soaring Eagles, state course thats decent

Trumansburg for a small out of the way course is doing very well. Probably played that one 100 times.

Cornell is coming back. front 9 bunkers re-done and greens were coming back last year. Not sure what the plans are this year for back 9 but they are trying to fix some drainage issues. another RTJ course

I cant believe we dont have an Oak Hill member on this board to help a few of us out.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I'll check all of these courses out.

Sounds like we have lots of solid options west of Cuse!

Do Cal for golf...it appears Cal will be a night game so that helps with getting an extra golf round

Mid October is such a crapshoot for weather if golf is a huge priority.

Not in the Finger Lakes but over by Turning Stone is this place. Only a couple years old. Each rental includes a complimentary poonton boat. I'd double check to make sure if they think the lake level will be ok in mid September.

If you stay there... sutomcat can fill your in on other golf courses beside Turning Stone. I'd imagine Green Lakes State Park would be recommended.

Finally for tailgating...get with me or JeremyCuse and reserve your spot at our tailgate.
Thanks Mark. I was considering just DM-ing you instead of making this post.

We are a hardy group of Canadians who don't mind playing golf when it's in the 40's or 50's outside.

My preference is Cal, but it' a little close to Labour Day (September 7th), so might not work the best for the group's schedules (back to school for their kids, remembering how to do their jobs again. etc).

Did we set you guys up at our tailgate before? We generally have a few groups of Canadians every Fall join us. OburgOrange is our official greeter and is fluent in Loonie, Toonie, and Hoser.

Some of this group was at the tailgate for Clemson a few years back, but there was a larger a group of Canadians from the east coast (who hoser circles around people like us from Toronto), so we went relatively unnoticed and didn’t have to do any party tricks.
