Only if he took the time to attend some financial management sessions...or maybe not. Too much of a practice for him to take it seriously

OrangeMojo shocked
(not shocked at all for the sarcasm impaired)

I'm confused, is the first person OrangeMojo shocked, or is the third person OrangeMojo shocked?

Donald Trump and/or his companies have declared bankruptcy four times and certain people seem to think he's worth listening to.

I remember when people said AI going to Denver would really be great for Melo. I'm sure AI really taught him a lot of great life lessons. "Melo, you need to get yo'self a full time barber. Thats what you need"

Agree, if he had just practiced money management he wouldn't be in this predicament.

These jokes could go on all day!

Maybe mutombo can lend him some of his stolen gold to pawn off, victor page would give him some good rates im sure

$154 million since 1996, said to be bankrupt today. Won't be the last athlete to squander everything earned, do to excess conspicuous consumption. Happens time after time, no matter how much counseling, no matter how many abject examples like it are documented in sport history. Like Pete Rose, expect him to be signing autographs for $25 at trade shows/conventions to stay afloat.

The best Iverson story I heard was he and his entourage went on a trip. Parked the car at the garage and embarked. Got back a week later. Couldn't remember where the car was parked (a Hummer in the earlier days of hummers). Took two trips around the garage, quit looking, called a cab, went to a (car) dealer and bought a new SUV and went home.

Heard on WFAN today that he wants to make a comeback in the NBA and told several GM's he would be willing to play in the D League to show he can still play before being offered a contract. That's just sad.

Kinda like T.O playing for the Arena Football League

What's even more sad is that he could probably do it, and make more money in one year than almost anyone here would in his lifetime.

THAT is sad.

Nobody should be surprised with this story. The hanger ons have put down more than one athlete. These guys don't know how to move on with their life and get away from their high school buddies.
Present day you could look at LBJ and ask yourself if it could happen to him. What are the qualifications for most of the crew that travels with him?

He is probably asking Melo for money. What will LaLa say?

I remember it being reported that the day after his freshman season ended, he signed with an agent, and was seen driving around campus in the most expensive Mercedes available at the time.

Iverson was one of the toughest guys to ever play in the NBA, one of my favorite NBA players of all time, just fantastic talent, so quick.

The money problems-- not the first won't be the last

His practice comments were spot on, anyone every watch an NBA practice in season? Not exactly Hoosiers material, If you get 50% effort out of guys you are doing well
