The three other CFB divisions have 16 team playoffs, NCAA hoops allows about 20% of the teams into the tourney. There is no reason that FBS cannot have a 16 team playoff, all 10 conference champs and 6 at large.

Yeah, the mid majors and at larges will lose quickly, but they have their shot.

16 is too many, plus would cost 4 bowls teams that should be playing there.

either go to a P4 with conf camps only in a 4 team, or the better solution is 8 team playoff. 5 P5 champs + highest rated G5 champ + 2 at-large teams

- seed 1-8 but allow for a little tweeking so no rematches/same conf game in the 1st round

Not sure why it would cost four bowl teams. Incorporate the bowls and there are no losses. If necessary, create two more bowls, what's a couple more?
