These type of calls, not personal fouls but just crazy calls in general, aren’t happening to just us. They’re happening in every conference

He didn't grab his facemask but Brohm of Purdue was just laying into his redshirt freshman QB almost the entire second half of the Iowa game yesterday. Kid did not play a good half after doing well in the first half. But I thought it got to the point of being a bit excessive. The contrast to Dino's demeanor was definitely striking.

I prefer Dino’s demeanor. Ripping into a player during a game means you don’t know how to coach and have run out of ideas how to “teach”. If a player can’t do what you’re asking them to do then they’re either not capable or you haven’t taught it very well. Neither answer means ripping into a kid will fix anything. On the flip side I think Dino is tough on players behind the scenes and I’m good with that too.

Honestly, it’s hard for me to imagine that after that moment, either of those to had any lasting feelings from the interaction.

But, the corresponding overreaction from the world will be significant.

Honestly right or wrong this is how HCDB should’ve handled our OL guy false starting on 3rd and 2 Friday night in the red zone. And I would’ve benched him to. The number of false start penalties at this point are unacceptable and as chewing worthy.

I used to get my mask grabbed. Didn’t get butt hurt but scared cause Mr. Overand was about 6’and 350 ish. I learned that way. Don’t know if I would have improved if he was nice. He new I hated getting yelled at and it made me play better.
