Senior Bowl North Squad wide receiver Alec Lemon of Syracuse (15) is pursued by linebacker John Simon of Ohio State (54) during Senior Bowl football practice at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala., Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. Alec Lemon was a late addition to the Senior Bowls North squad. He can thank teammates Ryan Nassib and Justin Pugh who bragged on him to bowl officials.

Late Sunday, while watching the Pats/Ravens game, Alec got the call. Justin Pugh had been texting him a warning that a call could be coming. From there it was a scramble. Lemon was in Arizona prepping for the combines & pro day. As soon as he touched down in Mobile it was off to a meeting then long interviews. The next day was a cram course on the play book with one of the coaches helping him.

The things that scouts like best about Alec Lemon are his route running and his great hands. The one thing they want him to work .....speed....speed to create separation. Alec has been hard at work addressing this issue in Phoenix, Arizona at Fischer Sports.

As far as a favorite team, Alec was born in Colorado during the Elway, Terrell Davis era so he's been a Broncos fan all his life. Wouldn't it be nice to see him hooking up with Peyton Manning on Sunday's and learning the nuances from Tyke Tolbert?

Hopefully this band of Syracuse Brothers get a chance to shine for scouts and fans alike.

Good luck guys!

I always felt that Lemon and I had a special bond. It's now been confirmed.

Why is ohio state player wearing a blue helmet w/ yellow facemask?

Great question because here John Simon has his OSU hat on and tats on his left arm. There is no doubt it was a misidentification under that other pic.

Now I challenge you to identify the player and the school he's from, of the actual guy behind Alec.

Ironically, I think these guys have been room mates for the last three years. What a fitting way to end their college careers.

Tulsa?

#54's helmet looks like San Jose State.

Must be Montori Hughes - #54 from Tennessee-Martin

never mind - not their helmets either :noidea:

Here is a North roster I got from SB Nation sans Lemon. Don't see anyone from Tulsa, there are two players from San Jose St. but neither has a 4 in their numbers. Maybe the guy pictured was a late add on? I don't see Montori Hughes in the list below.

good call by Frozen - that's definitely a SJ State helmet - they had a defensive player who was a late addition named Travis Johnson, a 6'3" 244lb DE - I think that's him wearing #54 for some reason

Okay, Dan - here's what I want you to do.

Hold both arms out in front of you, with your fingers pointed toward the ceiling and thumbs pointed inward at each other.

Now, which one of your hands forms what looks like the letter "L"?

:)

It's most likely this dude who is playing in the game with the North as an O-Lineman

This guy who is playing Tight End

or

Travis Johnson who was a later add on as pointed out above

Good call. Travis Johnson is white and so is the guy pictured above. Makes sense now.

That's an awesome story. What are the odds on Lemon winning MVP? I could see something crazy like that happening.
