Quite a bit of talk in the media down here that the UConn center will wind up at Chapel Hill. He can leave (has permission) and can play right away elsewhere for his senior year, given the UConn "no post-season" circumstances.
UNC has lost Zeller, Barnes, Marshall and Hinson to the Association. UNC's "ideal plan," as professed by many Tarheel'ers I know, is to get Shabazz and Oriakhi, and have them join McAdoo (if he too doesn't bail for the NBA), Strickland, Hairston and Bullock for another loaded and highly ranked Tarheel squad in 2012-13.
Personally, I'd love for UNC to get neither Shabazz nor Oriakhi, for McAdoo to leave too, and for the remaining others not to find any chemistry next year. I may live down here, but SU remains my team. If I must pull for any ACC team, it's NCSU (because they employ me and because I like their coach (Mark Gottfried) and he's really good).
