But what I find interesting about the article is that Seth Davis claims SU has three NBA players (G, MalRich, Lydon) to UNC's 1.

I find that insane considering how athletic and talented Brice Johnson, Justin Jackson, Isaiah Hicks, and Kennedy Meeks are. Not to mention Joel Berry (just a Soph) has shown off some skills recently that could lead to potentially playing a couple of years there.

I'm not an NBA scouting expert but how is UNC so seemingly talented and at times able to dominate opponents if they only have one NBA player? Is Roy Williams a magician? Or is Seth Davis full of poop?

I think I know the answer.

Nirvana, I am with you. I've never been a fan of Seth Davis, unlike some folks on here. G's is more marginal, and the other 2 are more future, vs UNC which is UNC. That's the 5 second analysis of a drunk amateur vs an expect like Seth Davis.

As for the all 7, with a 9 point spread, they'd really risk looking foolish to do otherwise.

The people on Sirius are definitely giving us a chance. Cremins has been super complimentary the whole way. Spatola says our unit with Lydon in there is as good a five in the country. Even Elmore was on as a guest and was giving us love.

jesus this board is thin skinned... UNC was a favorite going into the tourney, why wouldn't you expect all the experts to pick them? They've beaten us twice this season. I certainly would pick UNC to win as a neutral fan, heck, if I was putting money on this game it would be on UNC.

I wonder if Kenny Smith will "colour outside the lines" again and pick us for Saturday. No doubt we will get a lot of love for what we have accomplished, but when it comes right down to it I expect all these top analysts to go with the Tarheels. I'm fine with that.

Ironic that you're calling this thread thin-skinned. I have zero problem with them picking UNC and never said I did. But thanks for chiming in!

If I was a neutral fan I pick UNC too
I'm not neutral and if I had to pick I'd pick UNC. Doesn't mean I don't think Syracuse can win it but I've thought UNC was the best team in the country since I saw them in the Dome and they're peaking right now. They're loaded. Which is why I find Davis' statement that they only have one NBA player crazy.

Good thing they don't have any influence over who wins the game.

yea i agree. On paper this is a unc win for sure and I dont blame people for picking them. In the end who cares as they have no impact on the game whatsoever and it will only I hope fuel this team as they embrace the FU underdog role once again

I just don't get why so many people feel slighted since the national media isn't picking us. That's all. It's surprising to me.

...and I'm not thin-skinned. I'm just big boned. ;)

I just really hope our guys are reading all this and it is fueling their fire. I want to see this team come out with defensive intensity like we haven't seen yet. I want Roberson effecting everything and grabbing rebounds like a madman. We've played them twice, but I hope the UNC players don't even recognize the team they are playing Saturday night.

I would pick UNC to but anything can happen.

Syracuse was in a 1 point game with 2 minutes left AT North Carolina on their senior night. And if I recall it was a 2 point game with 40 seconds left AT North Carolina on their senior night.

I remember I never thought the '96 team could beat Kansas.

Anything can happen.

So Davis says that we have 3 future NBAers on the roster, and Dakich says we have "maybe" one, in G.

I'm so confused.

You would think one guy would take the contrarian view and pick SU just to be different. Anyone can pick chalk.
