Allen will throw for +300 yards saturday

BFD.

Wagner.

Would be great to see, and I have no doubt he's capable.

I hope he can improve on his TD / INT ratio.

I'd say not in a million years. Not that he couldn't, but because

1. We're going to do everything possible to get the running game going. If we don't, we're not going to win much more.
2. If he throws for even 200, then we probably have a comfortable enough lead that Hunt will get some run.

Really the only scenario that he throws for 300 is if we get into a shootout. Let's all stop and pray that doesn't happen.

Be better if both Allen and Hunt each throw for 300. Then I'll be slightly impressed.

I just finished watching the game again on BTN. Drew is close. It is too bad that we didnt open with Wagner and Tulane as i think we would have beat Pstate and played close to NW. Yes he telegraphed his throws a few time but he does show a heck of an arm. Not sure why he goes side sling something they need to work on. In watching the two QB's i can see why the staff went with him. Yes Hunt played well but he was playing against a vanilla D third string and we were in a hurry up 2 minute O. If and it is a big If Drew can cut down on the picks he does have much more upside in my opinion.

If we need to throw for 300 yards Saturday, I'll be extremely worried. We should throw for 200 as a team, tops, and do most of our damage on the ground.

His three biggest problems are

1. INTS 2. Batted down balls due to lack of awareness and going Dan Quisenberry at times. 3. Deer in headlights getting plays from George and not leading the offense

If he can eliminate the INTS and cut way down on batted balls and GMC can simplify the O so the O can run quicker but we absolutely cant have the INTS and all these deflected balls. IF he has multiple interception games in the next 2 you have to sit him, he is just killing us. Look I think the kid has too much rust to shake off, when it comes to feel for the game, he probably looks good in practice because that is all he has known for 4 years but the game experience is 100% different.
I think towards the end of the year when Paulus played the muscle memory and football stuff was coming back to Greg, but Paulus always had the intangibles and feel, he just was never in football shape until the end of the year. Paulus made some boneheaded plays too but go look at him selling play fakes, etc. Greg was pretty good in many areas. Drew was 3rd string for a reason, he wasn't good enough to start or even be the #2 and who wouldn't want a 5th year senior as their starter if they thought he was good enough. I know they had their version of Tebow but they still needed a legit every down qb, coaches don't let kids who they think can help them win leave after 4 years!

I know Drew's brother or Uncle was on here giving us the ET version of his saga but whatever, Lluvmygrands thought Perry Patterson was a cross between Kenny Stabler and Boomer Esiason! Can't blame family one bit!!

I want to see good execution run or pass. Good stats will follow that.

Regarding IB's post above, I noticed Allen making a playfake in the PSU game with no runningback there when we were in a hurry up offense. It bugged me at first but now I'm not so sure he just really doesn't either have this playbook down or just can not recognize situations.

He's lost and that is on the coaches

Or not the sharpest tool in the shed.

He got into Newhouse when others could not do the same who tried, I think Drew is a smart kid, I just think he has a bit Billy Scharr disease. Freezes up when the lights come on, hoping that HUNT is just the opposite, not the best practice player good when the lights come on. As Sales was and I am putting Funderburke in that category as well

This will be the stat line...

290 yards passing
3 INT's, yes 3 to Wagner
3 batted balls
3 throws out of bounds

...pretty sad but these stats would show an improvement over the NW game.

GO CUSE! We will be on our way after Wagner! With an improving but inept QB and a ton of other mis-used talent! Can't Wait!!

EDIT:Jerome will get 9 touches this game and there will be 2 delay of game penalties.

That's good to know and it's true there are athletics smart and book smart. I love it when the two combine but that's not always the case.

I'm less worried about this than seeing more efficiency and execution no matter the play call.

Yep, I want to see Jerome get his and alot of Morris and McFarlane.

Nope we're going run it.

If we do it'll be because someone took a screen pass the distance.

This will probably be closer than we like just like Marrones d1aa games.

One big difference with just running with this group is that we have a lot of backs that can take to the house from a distance unlike the catch them after a 15 yard gain. Morris and McFarlane will make those Wagner boys see the back of their number. Smith will have them see stars.

We will be too busy throwing into defensive lineman's elbows, out of bounds and interceptions to hand the ball off to anyone.
