Almost every year at this point in the season we see a rule change thread...

I agree with the 10 second back court...you get 10 seconds and a timeout does not reset it

I hate any player who is allowed to bulldoze their way in to score by backing their man down. In fact I hate most crap that is allowed in the post...its like there are separate rules for play in the post.

25 second shot clock

Reduce team timeouts from 5 to 3.

Something has to be done about media timeouts too. Maybe drop it down (1) by going to under 15, under 10 and then under 5 minutes. Show more commercials before and after games but less during.

Widen the lane.

More technicals for mouthing off by players and coaches.

Don't watch CBB anymore unless it's cuse...plenty of great action in NBA every night on Full Court. They need massive, massive changes to get me back.

I haven't watched an entire NBA game since Larry Bird was playing.

A meaningless exercise.

You're missing some of the best basketball ever played.

1) no shot clock

2) Change the dimensions of the frontcourt (where a team is on offense). Put a line on the floor on both sides of the center court line approximately 8 feet from that line (give or take a couple feet). These two new lines would each be called the frontcourt line.

3) I'd also like to see the baseline moved back to be equal with the stanchion. If this rule was in effect I'd move the frontcourt lines 6 feet closer to the baskets.

4) When a non-shooting player is fouled he shoots one free throw and his team keeps the ball (they maintain possession). In the last minute of the game, if there isn't a tie, when a non-shooting player on the trailing team is fouled he shoots 2 free throws and his team keeps the ball if they are still trailing.

I'd like to see some games played using these experimental rules. Adjustments/changes might have to be made but I think these rules improve the game.

If you can't body up on defense, then you can't body up on offense either. I hate that players, especially centers and PF get to back their way to the basket as long as the defensive player moves one iota. Use of arms, chest, hips or butts to clear space should be a foul.

I am in favor that as well. I focused on defenders because I think it is much more prevalent on defense than offense.
