biggest thing yesterday was looking for early offense, pushing the ball, and attacking.

Screw the take a minute to get the offensive middies on the field.

I absolutely hate that the game has evolved to this. It makes my head explode waiting so long for guys to run on and off the field, every single time there is a change of possession. Teams like Syracuse need to get away from that to push tempo.

I'll never understand what happened along the way that somebody decided their best offensive middies couldn't play defense anymore.

The classic two-way middie has gone the way of the dinosaur. As for Syracuse getting away from that, is it possible? Are the specialists that deficient in the opposing skill set? What is the state of the high school game, are they using the same offensive/defensive one-way middie? I have said in a previous post that this is the first year I have ever favored the introduction of a shot clock. Depending on how it would be implemented, I wonder if that would force the return of the do-it-all middie to the college game?

There are so many more great players coming out of high school these days and the college teams are not expanding fast enough to keep with the numbers.
So I would think that college coaches are making more promisses of playing time in order to keep up with the elite talent...Just a guess
