Not really sure myself but that 2012 team was an absolute beast by the end of the season. Both offenses would most likely have a field day with the opposition but interesting match up.

2018

Breakdown by group IMO

QB: 2018
RB: 2012
WR: Close but 2018
O-line: 2012
D-Line: 2018
LBs: 2012
Secondary: 2018
Special Teams: 2018
Coaching: 2018

Good question and that would be a great game. I think it would come down to the end. Who makes the big play at the end, Dungey or Alec Lemon?

I can't wait for 2024!

I actually thought Lemon and Sales were fantastic in 2012. I give the lean to the 2012 receivers

I would prolly take Lemon and Sales over any WR on the 2018 team except maybe Custis. But I liked the depth of the WR position on the 2018 team more than the 2012 team.

Qb run production and the kickers, that’s it.

Bromley, Crume, Goggins better inside, DE‘s are a tie

2012 lbs by a mile

id take a senior shamarko ahead of freshman Cisco

Disagree on the DEs but I'll give you the DTs. Entire Special Teams unit was much better on the 2018 team.

I'm gonna lean toward 2018. Everything the 2012 team was good at, the 2018 team saw a better version of when they played Clemson. I think Dungey is too much of an X factor and pushes 2018 ahead.

2018. as amazing as Dungey was, it is somewhat forgotten that we also led the nation in takeaways and we had the number 1 rated special teams in the country(both kickers were amazing as were coverage units and our return units). the weaknesses were a sometimes crappy run defense and a D that gave up too many chunk plays, but scoring over 40 per game, leading in takeaways and having the best special teams in America sounds like the winner to me

The 2018 team lost to National Champion Clemson, CFP Notre Dame and ACC CG runner up in Pitt

The 2012 team lost to unranked NW, unranked Minny, unranked Cincy, Rutgers, and USC (7-6)

The 2012 team had the better win against L’ville (10-2). The 2018 team best win was NCST or WVU, neither of which compare to L’ville in 2012

I think if you give 2012 Pugh and 2018 Triston and a healthy Defensive backfield, 2018 wins by double digits

I personally think the 2018 team had the best win vs WV in the bowl game, but since WV was missing multiple starters that game it's a lot closer.
