Ironic Buffalo (more Poles than anywhere outside of Warsaw and Chicago), Albany and Syracuse were up there. Well, it really a hokey poll, but still. This area was known 150 yrs ago as the "Burned Over District". Revival and Temperence frenzy hit hard. Religions spout up (i.e. Mormons). Now its "godless" . There's an allegory in there somewhere.
