Boatman, starter
Shu, 2nd team playing time for sure
Foster, 2nd team for sure great special team player
Fleming, 2nd team playing well who knows?
Curtis, 2nd team maybe starts with injured Pugh
Barnett, quits team another Oline miss
Sloan, in rotation playing well

Other in injuries
Pugh, hope he plays most of year but will have adjustment post injury
Lemon, missed a week dinged up
Shamarko, cast on hand hope he can tackle and catch the ball
Hale, nagging injury
Stevens out injury will be back
Rene, shoulder will be back
Clark, wrist injury

Good news is that not a lot of the injuries are season enders at least not yet. Still at some point it would be nice to catch a break or two.

Agree last year was also bad. Lemon, Thomas, Chandler, Sales, Harris, Hickey, Trudo, Lynn, All DBs were wearing a cast at some point.

If Fleming is day to day and Curtis was nagging who knows. He has not been at practice for 3 days so would guess it 4-6 weeks? Not being half full just feel we can't catch a break and has really hurt in the W/L column last few years.

Flemming was listed as day-to-day in an article today.

Is that what it said?

Not too mention Stevens, wales, Thompson battling lore body injuries. Addazio and Cutler coming back from injury. Makes we wonder about our training?

Met Carl this summer. He worked at a training center. Nice kid. Really rooting for him.

I've had class with Carl, really down to earth kid. I hope he does well this year as well.

Make you wonder what? The injuries are very typical of any program, especially some of the younger guys. A lot of the younger guys don't come into the program as fit as they should and play catch up for an entire year, such as Thompson. This can cause nagging injuries There are no real season enders there and its training camp. This is what happens in football and when you have elite athletes who most weight between 200-300 pounds running at fast speeds and crashing into one another, ever get down low and really watch these guys, it's violent to say the least. That said, a lot of these injuries aren't contact related but I don't see these as any different from any other team in America.

Clearly, football is violent and players do get injured. But, I watched a coach-turned-commentator the other day, who said that you can't have no contact in preseason, but that you want to limit it as much as possible. My question is: Does Marrone overdo contact?

The record this year doesn't show that to me.

Sloan went down in a non contact drill.
Shu quit. Non contact.
Barrett quit. Non contact.
Curtis has a chronic medical condition. Contact practices can't be blamed here either.

Shu wasn't going to be 2nd team. He would've been behind Desir/Shamarko and Esk/Wilkes for sure.
Barrett got tried out at TE.

You state your opinion on where these kids were on the depth chart as fact, which it isn't. Boatman wasn't going to start.

The ones that will hurt might be Sloan and Curtis. Flemming will be back. Foster still has 3 years of eligiblity next year.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the staff. Injuries happen all over the country. We've been fortunate to not have lost a few starters on the OLine (Mizzou) or our starting QB (Maryland).

Yet another Debbie Downer post.

Omaha lost me with that first line - Boatman, starter

He may be wrong on where he had some kids on the depth chart, but he didn't blame the staff or anyone. He also didn't say they were all due to injury, he also said losses.

I didn't read it as a debbie downer post. It just summarizes all the other threads we've had on individual players. Seeing them all in one spot really brings it home.

actually in a separate post he ends with "makes me wonder about our training?" - which is just ridiculous. you'd think all the injuries were of the same variety or that every other team in the country doesn't lose some kids to injury during camp.

Shamarko hurt his pinky, one kid has a bad back and three kids quit - fire Hicks! Marrone is too rough!

That was said after he listed many more players going back to last year. He's not the first to question the training. Of course training has nothing to do with kids quitting, but you'd be surprised at the number of people, and who, wonder if the training focuses too much on bulk and not enough on elasticity.

Boatman would not have started, but although I might be wrong, I thought at some point prior to him being done, he was listed as a starter.

This quote makes zero sense. If he's day-to-day, it means he MAY be ready... not may not. Poor choice of words.

"Day-to-day" is better than "season ending" or "6-8 weeks".

Yes he did in a separate post. I'm sure Mizzou fans aren't questioning the S&C team for their OLinemen going down.

Some of us on here are pessimists and some are optimists. I am optimistic that we haven't had significant year-ending injuries to actual starters.
