A buyout of LSU coach Les Miles' contract is "a very good possibility," a high-ranking source involved in the decision told ESPN's Joe Schad. "In Louisiana, we expect national championships and we're not in it," the source said. Boosters have already agreed to pay the $15-20M needed to buy out Miles and his staff, the source said.

He can afford to come to syracuse for a measley 2 mil a year...

The world of football SU and LSU live in are worlds apart.

and they can continue to spend obscene amounts of money and never sniff the championship. it doesnt guarantee sheet.

Highly ignorant question from a Yankee - there's that much money just lying around in Louisiana?

Insanity.

That's a lot of 5 cent empties.

Some enterprising SU fan should start a regional non-profit bottle and can redemption center with proceeds going to SU football (and tailgating).

Let's get creative and play with the big boys! Cans 4(4) Cuse

What a wonderful use of funds to benefit LSU student athletes.

People rip pro sports for being about money, but college sports are 10X worse IMHO.

LSU Football and how they have responded to Les Miles represents everything that is wrong with big time college athletics in my opinion.

One year of SEC network money could pay for that buyout if they couldn't get booster donations to pay for it.

Would LSU go after Justin Fuente, Kirby Smart, or Art Briles?

I know there is no way he is going to be at Cuse next year, but I'd be curious to see what he gets to coach next year.

To put this in perspective, the university itself has suffered huge cuts in recent years and reportedly considered bankruptcy this past spring
