Amount of scholarships used since 2013

You think we're an elite program?

I think we were extremely close after 11-12. While we weren't strong going into 12-13 we still made it to the final four. If we were able to sustain our 2009-2013 play I think we could be elite. But to answer your question no. It did say elite or top tier team though.

I see people defending the non-use of all our scholorships, I don't get it outside of blind faith on JB, but would the Yankees ever decide to only have 22 or 23 guys on their roster? If we have them why not use them?

Diagne is a great point I forgot about him. He is that missing big. Good take from your side I can understand the other side to mine in this debate. I just wish we had another body now and with the sanctions it will be a couple of years unless Roberson/Joseph one of them leaves and we get Thompson and/or someone else.
A couple of years? I think you are underestimating 7'2", at least from the defensive perspective.

Often times bigs take some time to develop. At center there is being added PC to another year of DC2. At power forward there will be TR plus Lydon full time plus a developing Moyer in the wings for the future.

Yes, it would be great to have a developmental center for '17-'18 - and Thompson seems to fit the bill - but it is not an easy sell.

Not saying it's necessarily the case here but I once had a boss whose main priority was to minimize things that would represent a hassle to him.

Isn't the APR boost the main purpose to leave 1 or 2 scholly's open? We give a walk-on or 2 a scholly and that counts towards our APR, correct?

Pretty pathetic if we do that. I don't think that's the case but if it is we really can't talk smack about anybody's academics.

Chukwu will help but I am not putting high expectations next year for him. He will be a good defender but we won't get much offense from him. Somebody compared to our DeAndre Jordan which would be great.

Deandre Jordan? Omg......

I would take Jordan in a heartbeat. You realize Jordan is one of the 5 best defenders in the NBA and probably the first or second best big defenders.

All I want Chuwku to do is dunk the ball and catch lobs. He isn't going to give us much offense. He just needs to be an elite rim protector.

Trust me, I would too. Comparing him to DJ is just insane.

If we had 13 scholarship players on last years roster, with Xmas as the only senior, it would have been hard to sign a 4-man class (incl. Diagne.) Yeah, McCollough was likely gone, but Boeheim would have had to run a couple people out of the program to free up the other two spaces. And everyone knows JB would never run anyone out of the program. That's reserved for Calhoun and Calipari.

I don't expect him to be as good as NBA Jordan but college Jordan definitely.
Jordan averaged 7.9 PPG, 6.0 RPG at Texas A&M and was a good defender.

If that is too much to ask for I don't know what to expect. Chukwu can definitely give us a college Jordan presence especially in the middle of the zone as rim protector like Jordan.
