strickland seems to have the style that would love the space this offense creates. the question will be can the oline get us the tough yards that we couldnt the last 2 years.

Both of these guys impressed last year so im not surprised that with a full year in the program they are dong well. Cant wait to see them in this O

We're going to be very entertaining, that's for sure.
The two are both talented and have their own skill set they bring to the field. We can be very good if the O line becomes above average. We are going to need a strong running game to force safeties to honor the run. When that happens it creates one on one match ups down the field. Ishmael will take advantage of that because his best skill set is tracking the ball on deep throws. I already think Estime is going to thrive in this system. Offensively, we can be better than what people think. The staff can see how the pieces can fit into the puzzle.

we created mismatches last year against the good teams, we just couldnt make the throws. this offense should be able to make even more, like coach says accuracy is the key

Not to get off topic, but I know that we shouldn't expect to be running on all cylinders offensively until midway through 2017, right? For those of you who are into the research aspect of things, has Dino taken over an offense with as many skill players returning as we have? I know this offense is a much different animal, but we have a solid number of guys with game experience coming back. Just curious what others may think. I guess I'm just over anxious for us to be good!

one thing that has not been explained is what part of the learning curve makes it a 2yr adventure? it is the reads by the qbs? the pace of play? the reads by the WR? i would think the RB have the quickest curve , but no idea how much the oline has to relearn?
the other issue how much the redo by Babers was getting the D he wanted in place, i dont think our D was that far off talent was just young in key places last year.

i have to think though that the further you go up the talent pool the less the conditioning gap as a whole is. we are only a bit away from trying to run a hyper speed offense , BG had some elite high level guys but i think as a whole Su talent still was better to start with so while some have huge strides to take many do not.

In the words of Dino himself, "Those are fantastic questions" lol. I think its all of that, but I think we are gonna be much better offensively because of the experience coming back and we do have guys that do fit the scheme. I dont know how much better. I think Strickland and Fredericks are similar to the two backs at BG but our guys have more upside compared to them. Estime will be utilized the right way in this scheme. He is a slot who can create mix matches with LB's. Phillips can do the same but might take a little longer to adjust to that position. Ishmael is smart and AC has alot of xperience. So with experience at the skill position I am hoping they can all pick up on the defensive reads and checks that are required to really excel in this offense. Thats when it gets really good. We might only see a shell of what the offense can do at first. We will get better as the season goes on. When you get a chance watch Dino's first season at BG. There are games on youtube. I watched Western Kentucky, Indiana, Umass so far. I want to see how the offense progressed from year 1 to 2.

BG had some elite high level guys

What do you mean by this? 4 and 5 star talent? Or was their "eliteness" a product of the offensive system Babers runs?

the top WR are better than ours, the system made the rest.. the top RB is pretty good too.

Their QB reminded me of a weight watchers commercial

I think the only elite player they had was Roger Lewis because of his combination of hands and speed. Gehrig Dieter and Steve Ishmael are very similar in terms of talent and skill set. Other than that all our current skill players are better in talent. Estime is better than Ronnie Moore IMO. If Estime was on BG's team he would have killed the MAC.

Dino has been saying 2-3 years for the offense to fully click bc thats him being smart. Give worse case scenario to the media and if it happens sooner he will look like even more of a genius; )

I am crazy excited and i have a feeling the coaching staff is too. I think they are pleasantly surprised at some of the talent they inherited. Specifically, ED, the young Oline talent (the 4 redshirts) , and our skill guys. If the Oline gets in better shape, the shape they need to be in to play at Dinos pace, then watch out! We have the talent fellas! Can't wait for April 2.

My question is, if Neal and or Butler have a big/decent year would that have any impact on recruiting? I'm pretty sure everyone knows where everyone stands on red shirting; but I'm wondering how recruits think about a team that play true freshman or not.

Strickland has a chance to become homerun hitting type of playmaker. He showed last year as a Freshman that he has the ability to be an elite playmaker in the ACC. I don't think we have seen that type of play making ability as a freshman in a long time. This offense is going to have some weapons for Dino to play with. The big question will be filling in the holes on the OL with ACC quality talent. Between Conway, and Adams there is potential there, but the true Freshman will take a year or so. As for the skill players, we have guys who produced in the ACC as true Freshman and Sophomore. It's up to Dino to maximize their potential in a new offense.

With what we have coming back, I wouldn't be shocked to see Syracuse as a surprise team in the conference next year. At very worst, Babers 2nd season is when we will be able to tell how this fit is going to work. The depth isn't quite there, but this isn't an empty cupboard.

Estime might, but has below Avg hands and is a bad route runner. he has the skill set if he develops but he needs to work at it
