And this is why JB is a HOF coach

true but Buddy was continually in the lane which was really helpful. He’s really improved there. Joe can’t do that as well.
Notice how the offense became almost unstoppable when the ball was shot inside and the guards stopped shooting.
That shouldn’t have to wait till 12 minutes left to start happening.
The guards need to get the ball inside to start.

8-24 from the field. 0-5 from three. I don't care where he is, that's terrible.

He made some key plays and played hard, but yeah...he’s shooting really poorly the last two games. And outside of a team packing in a zone on us and daring us to shoot...24 shots is a lot, even in an OT game. Especially when they’re not falling. Liked his aggressiveness in other areas and that steal and pass to Q was enormous. We need him to find his role this year though.

Sorry, this is now two weeks in a row where Buddy has played poorly and JB is covering for him in the presser.

It's not ok.

Buddy is not Kobe. He doesn't get to go 8-24.
Buddy played better than joe, and that lineup in the second half won us the game. I thought he made some big shots coming down the stretch and stopped chucking up 3s. He def needs to reign in some of these falling away two pint shots though and utilize much better shot selection but overall he helped us win. That play where he stole the ball after the Griffin strip and fed Q for a dunk was huge.

Sure.

Gotta love how we turned it up down the stretch.

First 30 minutes we were too easy to play against.

Not sure how 'hard' our schedule is actually going to be this year.

Again, and I do agree with you, Buddy was a big part putting us in the position to have to storm back.

Yes, he gets credit for some plays, but his inefficiency got us to almost losing this game. You can easily argue he was the main reason.

Buddy is not a lights out shooter by any measure. He should not have that type of green light.

Of course. But his inefficiency and ball hogging put us in the position to lose in the first place.

And JB makes it seem like he's not hurting us.

The kid is less than a 40% career FG% shooter. Come on.

Buffalo was to big, to physical for Joe to play. Buddy and Kadary were needed up top. Buddy didn't rebound much but his one rebound was critical and his save that turned into 2 was clutch. Buddy also creates space for Kadary and can create his own shot which Joe cant. Buddy and Kadary are a solid combination that compliment each other. Unless Joe is hot he just doesn't bring enough on D.

I agree with your first sentence but only to a point. I think he recognized that and stopped chucking up threes once we started to make the comeback in the second half. He def had a stretch there where he ball hogged a bit and just chucked up shots after one pass, that cannot continue to happen going forward.

Also i didn't think JB did that but after some of his comments the past two games i am starting to change my tune on that subject. I think some of his comments have come off dumb (see the comment about buddy shots being rebounded or w/e) and JB is starting to come off as defending Buddy regardless of circumstance.

The team seems to really like Buddy, and we’re fortunate that’s the case.

I guess my only concern with those minutes is Buddy with 42. However, it was our defense that got us back in the game and as bad as Buddy's defense can be sometimes, it is better than Joe's overall, even if it's only the size.

I don't get all hung up on who should start. We all know what JB is like and will no doubt have Joe starting. All three have their good and bad points, but go with who is having the better night. That could change from game to game. It's nice to have three options in my opinion. Not going to lose any sleep over it.

Yeah, and I want to be clear, I like Buddy. He's a valuable part of the team.

But he's nowhere near a guy that should ever have that type of green light for that volume.

We don't have any lights out shooters. We have guys that shoot.

Sometimes they'll get hot, but usually they are ok or less than ok.

This was Buddy's 68th career game. He is shooting less than 40% from the field. He has to be smarter, sooner. Especially considering he's not all world on defense.

Who doesn’t think JB is a HOF coach? We need names.

Does it mean just because a person is a HOF coach they are always right?

I mean people have to either worship at the altar or they are haters.

Great coaches have weaknesses, make mistakes, and have bad games just like great players do.

People get weird about coaches and think they “suck” when they’re not perfect.

And people get weird in the other direction and think someone is being a “hater” if they dare point out a move the coach made that didn’t work out.

It’s a hard job. Jimmy is one of the best.

And Kadary is our best guard.
