Andrew White's 3 point shooting

I really hope we land this kid. With him in the fold we can compete with any team in the country and will have the horses to win it all. Serious talent at every position and I don't think any other team will have the depth and talent that's in our cupboard.

For the record, Southerland and Gbinije had seasons that barely missed meeting your criteria (each fell just short of 40%) and even redshirt sophomore Cooney shot a very respectable 37.5% from deep.
Southerland and gbinije probably didn't shoot six per game. Just guessing , on my phone at the moment

Gbinije shot 39.1% on 6.3 attempts ppg last season.

Southerland shot 39.8% on 6.2 ppg attempts in 2012-13
If AW3 (or another volume shooter) shot as well as either of those 2 in those years i would think SU would be very very tough to beat next year

here's the list of players with 6 attempts per game and 3p% of 37% or better

still good company but remember that white's 41% is really good. it's 11% better than 37%. easy to get mixed up when thinking about percentages.
Excellent points, but so much of what determines one's shooting percentage is situational. Were there other legitimate three-point threats on the team? Were there other volume three-point shooters on the team? Was the player primarily a catch and shoot guy dependent on someone to set him up, or could he create space for his shot off the dribble?

life is too short to watch nebraska basketball but i'm going to assume the situation will be even better for him here

He was the team's leading scorer when he hit that 41% against Big 10 opposition, as the guy the other team was focusing on stopping. That tells me if we get him, he should shoot pretty well for us. Especially since we are going to be getting offense from Lydon, Battle and Gillon, too.

I never said his shooting wouldn't translate if he were to come aboard. I was only suggesting that SU has had other very solid shooters in the recent past, and that he would likely not bring us something we haven't seen before.

I didn't even know Nebraska had a basketball program.

or, put another way, as good as we've ever seen here. ;)
