Another bowl projection

The MAC has picked up the Poinsettia Bowl. That seems like a better reward for NIU. How about UB vs. SU at the Little Caesars Bowl?

I could actually go to the Little Caesars Bowl so I'm hoping UB gets it. I'd be doubly thrilled if they played SU.

The 2013 contractual Bowl tie-ins for the MAC are:
GoDaddy.com Bowl
Little Caesars Pizza Bowl
Idaho Potato Bowl

The 2013 Poinsettia Bowl is a MWC/Army matchup but Army is Bowl in-eligible so they can select from the pool of eligible teams that exceed their conference's bowl-tie ins. I think it's on a first come - first serve invite basis. That's how La Tech got left out laft year.

The MAC doesn't become a contractual Poinsettia Bowl Partner (against the MWC) until 2017 and 2019. They have a secondary relationship with each other where the situation described above can land a MAC team in San Diego earlier.

But that shouldn't apply to Northern Illinois this year. If they win the MAC and don't crack the BCS, they're headed to Mobile for the GoDaddy.com Bowl. The MAC currently has 6 bowl-eligible teams so at least 2 are looking for open bowls but you'd have to assume that NIU will be picked by one of their contractued bowls. I've seen in the past when bowls made deals with each other (Liberty/Humanitarian Bowl) to trade teams so it's not impossible.

I don't know why I just spent 15 minutes researching to clarify this minute point. I apologize for wasting your time.
