I found it interesting that the best Adj team efficiency margin was Joe, buddy, Cole, Benny and Jesse. Also very interesting that they show Joe as having the highest overall value to the team.

Youre wrong. The best adj team margin is incorrect, you aren’t adjusting possessions.

edit: go to team breakdown and overview. You’ll see the top lineup there as well

Joe does have the highest BPR though. Not sure if that’s what you mean by “value”

Really interesting. If you bump possessions up to 200, Pitt has the sixth best lineup in total efficiency margin in the ACC. which is interesting to say the least...

That’s mainly why I said it was interesting. Not Joe over Sy but Bennie over Jimmy.

With that said that equates to basically 1 possession of that lineup per game as well.

absolutely. “best lineup” is all context. I think it’s more interesting in countering the idea that we can’t go to the bench and try diff lineups. The whole “experimenting“ debate, You play a whole game with Benny playing 40 vs Duke, obviously the numbers will look dreadful the next day

One other note...in the 10 years, we haven’t had one player have below a -10 on DBR, until this year in Jimmy.

im certainly not suggesting he not play or not start or not have the most minutes at forward even...

I am suggesting I don’t understand how we see so many posts suggesting Benny “can’t play because he hurts the offense”, yet not seeing the counter that Jimmy “can’t play because he hurts the defense” other than the obvious in that defensive stats other than steals or blocks aren’t in your standard box scores.

We all knew JBA was a secret weapon. Hopefully we hold onto that one for the tourney.
