Any thoughts on the new court?

I think the orange on the baseline is a bit dark for my taste, but, as it was pointed out to me, it does match the current jerseys better.

Bingo. Overall, I like it. Great to see the "Syracuse" removed from above the Block S. But the S is the only thing highlighted by navy. The white text in the paint, on the sidelines, and on the baselines needs a navy outline in order to match the S.

I'm good with the orange.

It's kind of a minimalist court, and given how crazy some courts are getting, I've got no problems with the basics.

I wish that the BE logo wasn't white, just leave it unpainted.

I'm big on symmetry - one of the coolest things about the Block S is that it looks the same from the television camera and east side bleachers as it does from the west end zone stands. The "Syracuse" threw that off. (The Boeheim signature and the twin Carrier logos still throw it off, so it's not perfect.) There's something a little cheesy and "made for TV" about a paint scheme that is stacked toward one side of the court and upside-down for the other side.

The 1995-~2004 court really nailed the symmetry, with the Block S in the middle and a "Syracuse University" in blue text on each side of midcourt, each facing the opposite way. When they added the "Jim Boeheim Court" in 2002, they did it facing the same way (though it got a little busy).

The white lettering in the key and baselines looks very plain. I couldn't put my finger on why, but now I agree it is because there is no blue outline.

back in the day----navy blue was a "minor" color, orange and white were our colors(officially orange only) i wish we still wore orange pants and white jersey's at home--football---but would not be bad for b'ball as well---we did that for a few yearss

Our official school color is only orange. Most schools have 2 school colors. We're also the Syracuse ORANGE not the Syracuse Orange & Blue. Dr. Gross is trying to get us better brand. All orange and a bit of white is what Gross wants people to see when they think of Syracuse. Let's face it orange and blue aren't exactly unique. All orange and some white is unique though, and will help set us apart. I wouldn't be surprised to see all orange uni's for football in a few years. Clemson can pull off all orange, but the Syracuse Orange can't?!

Personally I think we should use Orange and White as school colors. Make the S on the court have a white outline like my avatar. It would match the 3 point line that way.

A white endzone? No, thank you.

I'm also not a fan of minimalist green endzones (e.g. Notre Dame).
I like the current Orange on blue endzones.

I think what's more likely is an orange end zone with white SYRACUSE and ORANGE in them. It was just easier to make the end zone white and keep the SYRACUSE and ORANGE orange for my example.

Maybe it's just me ... but I happen to prefer Navy Blue with the Orange.
