I get the big news is on the basketball side, but have there been any updates on spring practice? Shouldn't the post standard move away from the penalty stuff and toward the football
The media only gets to watch 20 minutes of practice, and Shafer only talks to the media on Tuesdays.

But that would fly in the face of sticking to the Post Standard for the scandal digs at JBI mean this isn't a big deal, but maybe the staff should consider giving the media, and fans more access to Spring ball. They are fighting an uphill battle trying to gain fan support, and this could be a gesture of kindness for the die-hards who have stuck with the program. More access will allow more articles, which will allow the media to pass along more information for the casual fans. I'm sure a large percentage of the "fanbase" doesn't even know Spring practices are going on. Open practices would allow daily reports, which gives the football program a month of exposure they otherwise aren't getting. Maybe it gets some of the more casual fans a feeling that they are invested in the program if they are following along year round. Either way, there is absolutely no way anybody is convincing me that undercover agents would be in attendance plotting our demise. And even if opposing coaches are up there scouting who cares? I don't see any huge advantage being given away. I think the positives of an open Spring far out-weight the potential negatives.
