I noticed that, and was going to post it as well. How many other universities let their cheerleaders do that?

Get the right nubblies, and that could be a distraction.

Very dangerous for those cheerleaders the way that basketball was going all over the court, stands etc. They would have been much much safer it they could just have sat on either basket.
