The states real big Event in Syracuse is the state fair, the state fair grandstand is a horrible venue which should be used for chevy court type events. A 40 thousand seat arena could draw the biggest acts in the country during the fair time and also bring in monster trucks and other events that could be tied to state fair events though not on the grounds(no way never there) of the fair but perhaps close like near the mall or even downtown. Cuomo is a big thinker and one of the downfalls in the state big event here in Syracuse is that the concert draws for fair time are really lacking. Cuomo might be able to sell public money for such a venue if he can pitch it as an upgrade for the state main showcase event in upstate NY . just 4-6 events in that type of venue with 30-40 thousand people during fair time could really boost the fair image and take. Its one way they state could justify using public funds for a college or other sports teams arena.
